The paper presents good practices and selected problems of creating cooperation networks. The basics of creating and disseminating new forms of cooperation between enterprises and universities have been described. Based on the implemented international project "3DCentral - Catalyzing Smart Engineering and Rapid Prototyping", selected conclusions from creating network and management of many project activities including innovative technologies are presented.

The paper presents selected problems of design of machinery retrofit in Industry 4.0 era. In order to show the diversity of applications of new technological achievements, the case of radar revitalization as a museum exhibit has been shown. Ensuring functional safety and staff work safety has been changed into the safety of visitors to the museum and bystanders. Different approaches to the implementation of the safe stop function in both the internal adjustable frequency drive and the safety terrain zone are presented in the article.

The article presents the essence and significance of risk management processes in the project, as the key field for successful completion of the project, in the field of project management. Based on literature review, the methods and standards of risk management in the project as well as standards related to process safety were defined. The risk management process according to the PMBoK methodology was discussed as an example of an international project entitled 3DCentral - Catalyzing Smart Engineering and Rapid Prototyping.

The article presents the main trends in Rapid Prototyping and Smart Engineering. The potential of Central European regions was demonstrated and characterized on the mentioned basis of which e-learning trainings were developed. Based on the implemented international project "3DCentral – Catalyzing Smart Engineering and Rapid Prototyping", selected conclusions from the implementation of the training program are presented.

The paper presents selected security problems in ICT systems and OT used in industry. In the Industry 4.0 era, the knowledge and competence of the IT staff and the maintenance staff must be linked. Selected problems and their analysis and solutions form the semi-secure network and use of NoSQL databases as a database bridges are presented in the article for various branches of industry.
