The skin barrier function is important both to the topical delivery of drugs and to risk assessment following dermal exposure to various chemicals. It is impossible to assess the skin permeability of all new molecules synthesized in laboratory using only in vivo experiments. Computationalmodeling and QSAR methods provide an inexpensive and fast way to assess the potential for skin permeability of molecule before synthesis and enables prioritization of molecules for in vitro and in vivotests. To illustrate the possibility of the use of calculation methods to estimate the skin permeability of compounds a congeneric series of triterpenes was chosen.

Katastrofa chłodni kominowej w Elektrowni Turów była bodźcem do dokonania szczegółowych przeglądów, pomiarów i badań stanu technicznego prawie wszystkich hiperboloidałnych chłodni kominowych w Polsce, Wyniki tych prac ujawniły liczne nieprawidłowości, błędy i defekty wykonawcze, a także liczne uszkodzenia powstałe w trakcie eksploatacji. Skala występujących uszkodzeń była rozległa, a ich wpływy na trwałość i stateczność obiektów mocno zróżnicowane. Aby ustalić aktualny stan techniczny obiektu należało przeprowadzić bardzo dokładną inwentaryzację i analizę wpływów występujących uszkodzeń. Omówienie najczęściej występujących i najbardziej groźnych uszkodzeń płaszczy hiperboloidałnych chłodni kominowych jest tematem niniejszego referatu. Ponadto w referacie przedstawiono nietypowe rozwiązania konstrukcyjne zastosowane poraź pierwszy w Polsce, wzmacniające uszkodzone i nieprawidłowe wykonane powłoki, a także słupy pod powłokami chłodni kominowych Elektrowni Turów. Failure of cooling tower in power station ,,Tur6w" was an impuls to perform detailed inspections, measurements and ivestigations of technical states of amost all hyperboloidal cooling towas in Poland. Results of these works Tevealdednumerous realization imperfections, faults and defects and damages ariesen during exploitation. Scale of these occurring damages is large and their influence on objects's ddurability and stability is very differentiated. In the aim todetermineobject's technical state there is necessary to perform very scrupulous listing and influence analysis of occuring damages. Discussion of most often occuring and most dangerous damages of hyperboloidal cooling tower shells is the subject ot this very paper. The subject of this paper is a synthetic presentation of typical structural solutions applicatedto strengthening of abnormally carried out and impaired cooling tower shells in Turow Po-wer Plant strengthening ribbing have been carried out according tocarlier elaborated disigns.

Przedmiotem referatu jest syntetyczne przedstawienie skuteczności działania nietypowych rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych zastosowanych do wzmocnienia uszkodzonych i nieprawidłowo wykonanych powłok chłodni kominowych w Elektrowni Turów. Zastosowane użebrowania wzmacniające zostały wykonane zgodnie z wcześniej opracowanymi projektami. Z rozważanych paru wariantów zostały zrealizowane te, dla których wyniki obliczeń analitycznych i technologia realizacji umożliwiały osiągnięcie optymalnych efektów techniczno-użytkowych. Na dwóch chłodniach zastosowano wzmocnienie szkieletowe. Jedna z nich jest eksploatowana po remoncie już pięć lat, druga dopiero jeden sezon. W obu chłodniach nie stwierdzono żadnych uszkodzeń. Użebrowania wzmacniają chłodnie zgodnie z założeniami projektowymi.

The subject of this paper is a synthetic presentation of typical structural solutions applicated to strengthening of abnormally carried out and impaired cooling tower shells in Turów Power Plant. Strengthening ribbing has been carried out according to earlier elaborated designs. Some design variants have been taken into consideration chosen to realization ones which had the best results of analytical calculations and realization technology of them allowed to achieve optimal technical and exploitation results. Skeletal strengthening had been applicated to two cooling towers. One of them is in exploitation already for six years after repair and the second one barely for one season. There have not been noticed any impairs on both towers.

Elektrownia Turów jest aktualnie jednym z największych w Polsce placów budownictwa przemysłowego. Można tu zapoznać się i przeanalizować unikalne linie i rozwiązania techniczno-technologiczne; można podziwiać nowe obiekty takie jak kotły fluidalne, zakład sorbentu, komin sześcioprzewodowy, przepompownia na dnie kopalnianego wyrobiska czy składowisko popiołu mające na celu rekultywację terenów pokopalnianych. Wykonywane są remonty kapitalne połączone ze wzmocnieniem i modernizacją takich obiektów, jak chłodnie kominowe, kruszarkownie, kompresorownie, uzdatniania wody i wiele innych. W niniejszym opracowaniu zostaną przedstawione wybrane materiały dotyczące budownictwa w procesie modernizacji Elektrowni Turów.

Turów Power Plant is actually one of the greatest industrial buildings sites in Poland. One can here observe and analyze unique technical lines and technological solutions. One can admire new objects such as greatest fluidal boilers, sorbent plant, six-flue chimney, intermediate pumping station on the bottom of colliery open cast or ash yard for formerly mine land reclamation. There are carried out major repairs together with strengthening and modernization of such objects as cooling towers, crushing plants, compression plants, water treatment plant and many others. In this paper, there are presented chosen materials concerning building methods applicated to modernization process of Turów Power Plant.

Obowiązujące od 1995 r. "Prawo budowlane" nałożyło na właściciela lub zarządcę obiektu budowlanego obowiązek posiadania odpowiedniej dokumentacji technicznej, na podstawie której, w sposób jednoznaczny, można ustalić usytuowanie, przeznaczenie, parametry techniczno-użytkowe, przebieg eksploatacji i aktualny stan techniczny obiektu. Istnieje obowiązek dokonywania corocznych kontroli oraz obowiązek założenia i prowadzenia "Książki obiektu budowlanego", która ma stanowić encyklopedię wiedzy o obiekcie. Problemy te są tematem niniejszego referatu.

The Building Law which is in force since 1995 imposes on the owner administrator of a building object the obligation to possess a suitable technical documentation which allows to determine explicitly the location, technical and exploitation parameters, exploitation course and technical state of a building object. There exists the obligation to inspect every year a building object and to establish and carry on a record book of a building object that should be an encyclopedia of knowledge about the object. These problems are the themes of this very paper.

One of the basic conditions that shoud be laid down before starting the elaboration of immovable's value estimation is determination of the aim which it should serve. Appropriation of elaboration has an effect on its evaluated market value. In order that the elaboration lays down an objectiv value being relativ near to real price of immovable to be evaluated, it must take into consideration all market parameters and can not neglect technical parameters of immovable being evaluated. Thus it must be preceded with technical state evaluation or contain such en evaluation.

Monolithic wall and disc elements such as walls of pools or tanks, monolithic case ground floor of framed buildings, case foundations and similar objects require particularly skilful distribution of adequate reinforcement quantity on big surfaces of walls. Actually still valid our code is on that score over-liberal. Insufficient quantity of reinforcement often causes formation of cracks and sometimes fissures which vary statical schemes of construction. A good and in many cases the only one solution is application of prestressing to fissured construction. Examples of such solutions are discussed in this very paper.

Zagadnienia prywatyzacji przedsiębiorstw państwowych i wyceny ich majątku regulują liczne akty prawne. Prace przygotowawcze poprzedzające prywatyzację nieruchomości dużego przedsiębiorstwa państwowego są przedsięwzięciem długotrwałym, wymagającym zaangażowania zespołu specjalistów z odpowiednimi uprawnieniami, znających w teorii i praktyce problemy prywatyzacji, specyfikę prywatyzowanego przedsiębiorstwa i parametry techniczne charakteryzujące poszczególne obiekty, linie technologiczne i całe nieruchomości. Wybrane problemy związane z pracami przygotowawczymi do prywatyzacji elektrowni omówiono w referacie.

In the near future the restructurisation and privatization process of great industrial enterprises will be carried out also in power plants. Each power plant consists of a separated and closely built-on surface of ground on which there are situated not only typical for industrial building objects as shops, warehouses, office and social buildings, but also some and sometimes until twenty buildings and production objects of special appropriation. Here belong stream boilers, cooling, towers, chimneys, buildings with turbine sets, and also bunkers, crushing mills, collectors, conveyor belts, water channels, transforming stations, power transmission lines, switching stations e.c.t. Each power plant possesses also many immovables which are not directly bound with power production and they are most frequent situated outside main terrain e.g. housing estates, schools, health service centers, transport bases, e.c.t. Preparation process of power plant's fixed asset5s to privatization purposes is a complicated and long-lasting enterprize. It must be carry on in a comples manner by a team of specialists of many domains. The works should be led in two currents: 1 - geodetic works and legal and formal works, 2 - evaluation of immovables. In both actions there must be taken into consideration the basic technical and exploitation conditions of main plant and also of separate standards and market specifities. One should not forget that the technical state of an be evaluated has decisive influence on estimated value. The above mentioned problems are the theme of this very paper.

Niekonwencjonalne wzmacnianie uszkodzonych powłok chłodni kominowych

W lutym 1987 roku zawaliła się chłodnia kominowa w Elektrowni Turów. Przyczyny tej katastrofy były dokładnie zbadane i wielokrotnie omawiane [9, 10]. Od tego czasu ponad siedemdziesiąt polskich chłodni kominowych zostało poddanych bardziej lub mniej szczegółowym przeglądom i naprawom. Chłodnie kominowe stały się bardzo modnym tematem badań, publikacji a także specjalistycznych konferencji naukowo-technicznych [21,22,23]. Analizowano na nich sposoby, metody i kierunki prowadzenia badań i ustalania stanu technicznego hiperboidalnych powłok [11,12,14,19], badano i ustalono przyczyny występujących uszkodzeń typowych i nietypowych [ 7,13,15], wad projektowych i wykonawczych a także nieprawidłowości eksploatacyjnych [2,3, 16]. Dotychczas wyremontowano, stosując różne materiały, techniki, technologie i rozwiązania i rozwiązania konstrukcyjne, ponad osiemdziesiąt procent polskich chłodni kominowych. Nigdzie jednak dotychczas nie stosowano użebrowania jako wzmocnienie lokalnych zniszczeń betonu i nietypowych nieprawidłowości powykonawczych (imperfekcji). W niniejszym opracowaniu omówiono trzy rozwiązania konstrukcyjne opracowane przez autora dla różnych uszkodzeń i nieprawidłowości występujących na trzech teoretycznie identycznych chłodniach w jednej elektrowni. Dwa z nich to projekty niekonwencjonalne, często wywołujące dyskusję.

In February 1987 a cooling tower collapsed in Power Plant 'Turów'. The reasons of this catastrophe were closely and many times discussed [9,10]. Since then more seventy polish cooling towers had been more or less narrowly research. Cooling towers become a very popular theme of researches with publications and of speciatistic technical and scientific conferences [21,22,23]. There were analysed the ways, methods and currents of research conduct and hyperboloidal shell's technical state evaluation [11,12,14,19]. There were researched and stated the occuring of typical and non-typical impirments [7,13,15], project's and realization faults and also exploitation abnormalities [2,3,16]. Until now about eight per cent of polish cooling towers had been overhauled with application of different materials, technics, technologies and structural solutions. But ribbing was nowhere applicated as strengthening of local concrete damages and non-typical after realization. In this very paper there arediscussed there structural solutions worked out for different impairements and imperfections, occuring in three cooling towers of one power plant. These solutions are inconventional and they often provoke heated discussions.

Modernizacja i wzmacnianie żelbetowych kominów przemysłowych przystosowywanych do odprowadzania spalin odsiarczanych

Znaczna ilość z kilkuset żelbetowych kominów przemysłowych użytkowanych w Polsce została wybudowana w okresie, kiedy wełna żużlowa była nowym materiałem izolacyjnym stosowanym bezkrytycznie również w kominach . Nikt nie potrafi odpowiedzieć na pytanie - w ilu kominach zastosowano nieodpowiednią wełnę żużlową? Wielu użytkowników kominów nie zdaje sobie sprawy z faktu, że w ich kominach już dawno z wełny żużlowej pozostały tylko ślady. Nie wiedzą, że pod skorodowaną wełną beton żelbetowego trzonu komina jest zniszczony na głębokości kilku centymetrów. Niektóre z tych kominów są w stanie przed awaryjnym i wymagają odpowiednich badań i niezwłocznego odpowiedniego remontu i wzmocnienia. Drugim zagadnieniem przedstawionym w niniejszym referacie jest propozycja remontu i wzmocnienia zdecydowanego komina z jednoczesną modernizacją jego wnętrza przystosowanego do odprowadzania spalin odsiarczanych.

Considerable number of several hundred reinforced concrete industrial chimneys exploited in Poland had been built in time, when slag wool was a new isolation material, applied uncritically also to chimneys. Nobody could answer the question, to how many chimneys in Poland the inadequate slag wool was applied? Many users of chimneys do not know anything about the fact that long time ago the slag wool in their chimneys have changed to little traces. They do not know that the concrete of their reinforced concrete chimney shaft is dilapidated under the mineral wool till several centimeter deep. Some of these chimneys are in emergency state and require adequate research and a prompt and proper repair and strengthening. The second problem presented in this very paper is a proposition of repair and strengthening of an degenerated chimney with a simultaneous modernization of its inside, being fitted for carry away desulfurized flue gases.

Modernizacja budynku kruszarkowni i projekt fundamentu pod kruszarki węgla dla dwóch bloków energetycznych

W programie modernizacji dwóch bloków energetycznych przewidziano pełną modernizację węzła kruszącego. Według pierwszej koncepcji modernizacja kruszarkowni miała polegać na wyburzeniu budynku istniejącego i wybudowaniu od podstaw nowego obiektu. Z uzasadnionych względów ten wariant był nie do przyjęcia. Rozważono drugą wersję i następnie trzecią, która po zaakceptowaniu przez zainteresowane strony została zrealizowana. Podstawowym założeniem trzeciej wersji było ustawienie kruszarek na specjalnym fundamencie oddylatowanym całkowicie od konstrukcji budynku tak, aby praca kruszarek nie oddziaływała negatywnie na pracę i stan techniczny budynku. Były też inne ważne argumenty, które zdecydowały że zrealizowano wersję trzecią. Powyższe problemy są tematem niniejszego referatu.

Modernization of power units entails a long entanglements of technological, structural and building events. There are many building objects which are being modernized or realized completely new. Modernization of technological line in a power station begins in the crushing mill's shop. Three versions of Crushing Mill's Shop's modernization were taken in turn into consideration, from complete demolition till leaving the whole ground floor construction with introduction of separated foundation for crushing mills. The third version had been realized. Retaining of the graund floor structure alowed to avoid the ground excavation and the transfer of underground installations which are situated in the near of the building. A three-dimensional detached foundation had been designed for the crushing mills. Exploitation of crushing mills does not influence the building.

Technologia betonu natryskowego jest coraz częściej stosowana w praktyce budowlanej. W zależności od warunków eksploatacji remontowanego obiektu inżynierskiego skład torkretu jest ciągle udoskonalany. Następuje optymalizacja składu mieszanki z uwagi na nowe domieszki i dodatki, ustalone parametry jakości podłoża betonowego oraz postępu w rozwoju metod badawczych stwardniałego betonu. Na podstawie literatury i wyników własnych doświadczeń i badań na obiektach remontowanych podjęto próbę usystematyzowania zagadnień technologii betonu specjalnego oraz podano własne przykłady zastosowania torkretu do wzmocnienia i uszczelnienia obiektów inżynierskich.

Technology shotcrete is more and more frequently applicated in building practice. Composition of shotcrete is constantly improved according to exploitation conditions of the engineering object to be repaired. There takes place a selection optimization of mixture components taking into consideration the application of new admixtures and additives. There are more and more exactly taken into consideration quality parameters of concrete base also achivements in the field of device development, of research methods on mixture and on final product. On the ground of literature information analysis and of results of own experiments there was made an attempt to systematize the problems of special concrete technology and there are given some examples of shotcrete application to strengthening of engineering objects.
