Wdrożenie Lean Manufacturing w przemyśle hutniczym nie jest łatwe z uwagi na ilość i różnorodność stosowanych materiałów i urządzeń oraz ze względu na wieloetapowość i różne metody wytwarzania produktów stalowych. Celem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie korzyści jakie daje system Lean Manufacturing w hutach oraz wskazanie trudności, jakie powstają podczas jego wdrażania. Niniejsza praca przedstawia również niektóre narzędzia Lean Manufacturing, które zostały wykorzystane w hutach na świecie.

Implementation of Lean Manufacturing in the metallurgical industry is not easy, due to the diversity of the used materials, equipment and various multi-stage technology of steel products manufacturing. The objective of this paper is to show the benefits of Lean Manufacturing system in steel mills and to indicate of the difficulties that arise during the implementation. This paper also presents some of the tools of Lean Manufacturing, which has been used in mills around the word.
