Scharakteryzowano stale typu duplex, podano ich typowe własności, zakres zastosowania oraz materiały dodatkowe do spawania. Omówiono podstawowe zasady spawania tych stali mające na celu zapewnienie wymaganej odporności na korozję i uniknięcia wydzielania się kruchych faz w spoinie. Podano zakresy zastosowania metody MIG/MAG i TIG, gazy osłonowe stosowane do spawania oraz zalety i ograniczenia tych metod. W oparciu o podane przykłady spawania metodą TIG bez dodatku spoiwa zwrócono uwagę na możliwość zwiększenia prędkości spawania.

Duplex steels and their typical properties have been characterized. The scope of their application and welding consumables have been indicated. It has been discussed the main principles of welding these steels aimed at providing the required corrosion resistance and avoiding of precipitation of brittle phases in the weld metal. It has been given the scope of application of MIG/MAG and TIG welding methods, shielding gases used in welding as well as advantages and limitations in use of these methods. On the basis of examples of welding by autogenenous TIG process an attention has been given on the possibility of an increase in welding speed.
