Content available A method for determining sieve holes blocking degree
EN
The aim of this paper is to describe the process of sieve holes blocking. A series of tests and their results revealed a dependence describing the value of an average screen blocking coefficient as a function of two main factors affecting the process. These parameters are the toss indicator and the content of difficult-to-screen particles in the feed. The experiments presented in the paper showed that description in mathematical terms of the sieve holes blocking process is complex and difficult. A third degree polynomial function with two variables enables determination of the value of an average screen blocking coefficient in the processes of screening for specific arrangements: screen–particle–toss indicator–content of difficult-to-screen particles.

The study presents suggestions of partial automation of the screening process with the use of the rolling-screw screen. The principles of screening using such a screen was also briefly described in the study.

This work presents the results of the investigations, devoted to multi-frequency screens, devic-es being used for the screening process and equipped with two drive vibrators operating at various rota-tion speeds. The object of this research was to evaluate the efficiency and capacity of a newly designed double-frequency screen to sieve the grained materials, especially those difficult to separate. The experi-mental double-frequency screen is driven by two inertial drive vibrators operating at various rotation speed, providing complex shaking movement of the screen. In comparison to conventional devices con-taining vibrators operating at constant rotation speed, the application of this modern double-frequency screen resulted in improving parameters of the screening process.

Content available remote Determination of the effective sieve blocking coefficient
EN
This paper presents the results of considerations concerning the ratio of blocking of screen holes and the importance of particular independent variables affecting the process of blocking of sieve holes. The phenomenon of blocking the holes is unfavorable since it reduces the flow area of the lower size fraction through a sieve under scrutiny. The study was conducted, using laboratory sieves. Fine-grained materials: sand (loose sedimentary rock of irregular form) and agalite (spherical mineral) were applied as investigated mineral media.

Content available remote Screens for segregation of mineral waste
EN
The paper presents the results of investigations on classification of different mineral waste on screens with flat screens and rectangular riddles. We developed three different constructions of such screening and subjected them to tests and process examinations aimed to determine their efficiency and productivity on the semi-technical scale. Basing on the presented studies we developed the design assumptions and the industrial screen was constructed for industrial processing of mineral waste.
