Polymers are large molecules that consist of many repeating units to form macromolecules with different properties. Smart polymer is one type of polymer that has the ability to stimulate in the presence of different effects. This review defines these polymers, examines their types, and discusses their applications. It is found that there is more than one type of these polymers; each one can be stimulated by different factors. Furthermore, it has been discovered that these types of polymers have diverse applications.
