Well logs interpretation in salt domes is a specific geological problem, often requiring a not commonplace methodical approach. One of the important problems is to determine: — the actual thickness of shale and potassium salt alternated beddings occuring in a salt complexes with a high thickness; — the space orientation of rotary cores. Because the standard well logs have a vertical resolution about 0.3 - 0.4 m and the dip log in a very high resistivity complexes is geometrically "silent", therefore only the long space sonic (high vertical resolution) can answer the first question with a high reliability.
In Reńsko-1 well for first time in Poland were done wide well log set: conventional well logs, dip logs, LSS logs (long space sonic), and EMI logs. For doing the last one log EMI tool was used (property of Halliburton Logging Services). EMI logs were done gratis by HLS for ZZGNiG in Zielona Góra.
