Artykuł dotyczy relacji pomiędzy treścią a formą kompozycji. Autorka skoncentrowała swą uwagę na określeniu źródeł i rodzajów treści, które mogą być zawarte w kompozycji krajobrazowej, takich jak: pojęcia i formy archetypowe, "świat idei" - prądy filozoficzne, literackie, artystyczne, religie i związany z nimi kult zmarłych, władza, doktryna polityczna, ustrój, patriotyzm, poczucie odrębności. Autorka bada ten problem w ujęciu historycznym i współczesnym. Analizuje także wybrane sposoby wyrażania treści.

The article deals with relations between substance and form of composition. The author has focused her attention on the identification of sources and kinds of substance, which can be comprised in landscape composition, such as: an archetype notions and forms, "the world of ideas" - philosophic, literary and artistic currents, religions and connected with them cult of dead, rule, political doctrine and system, patriotism, feeling of separateness. The author examines this problem in historie and contemporary depietion. She also analyses chosen ways of expression of substance.

Referat dotyczy problemu symboliki krajobrazu. Obecność symboli sprawia, że krajobraz zyskuje wartość niematerialną. Skupiono uwagę na intencjonalnym zapisie różnorodnych znaczeń w przestrzeni, analizując pod tym kątem przeszłość i czasy współczesne. Identyfikacja przejawów symboliki, określa źródła i rodzaje znaczeń a także sposoby wyrażania określonych treści symbolicznych. Zwrócono uwagę na konieczność ich ochrony. Wypowiadając się na temat sztuki kształtowania krajobrazu, autorka podkreśla konieczność wzbogacania go o pierwiastki symboliczne. Wyraża przekonanie, że dopiero podniesienie krajobrazu do rangi symbolu, pozwala na uzyskanie przestrzeni nie tylko pięknej, ale i znaczącej.

The paper concerns the issue of landscape symbolism. The presence of symbols causes that landscape gains an immaterial value. The author focuses on an intentional record of various meanings in space, while analysing past and modern times in that respect. The identification of symbolism manifestations determines the sources and types of meanings, as well as ways of expressing specific symbolic contents. Also noted is the need to protect them. Speaking on the art of landscaping, the author stresses the necessity to enrich it with symbolic elements. She believes that only when landscape has been risen to the rank of a symbol, it shall allow to obtain space, which not only is beautiful, but also significant.

This article deals with importance of views in the perception of landscape. Attention is focused on those, which are more distinct, fascinating either by its beauty, originality, meaning which is attributed to them creating the essence of the landscape or by all theese features taken together. Listning numerous kinds of views, the author mentions fascination about them, which had assumed varied forms - from the contemplations, by the copying, to the forming of view. The article pays attentione to the fact, that bautiful view poses our heritage, which can't be sqandered, because we have a duty to hend it down. There is a Master Plan, which constitutes the instrument, securing this welfare. The author sees two ways to obtain this purpose. One of them there is a view study, made before Master Plan. The results of this study ought to influence on the decizions comprised in the Plan. The second one there is a notation of view issues directly on the grawing of the Master Plan, as its supplement. The next part of the work there is the exact description both of the first and the second method. More accurate then the other, method of view study, was used in numerous (mentioned in article) works, whereas the notation of view issues directly in Master Plan (which consists in zones of exposition preservation) was used at the correction of Cracov's Master Plan (1993/94). The whole text is ended by the general conciderations concerning relation between two methods and its usefulness in various cases. One can find here deliberations conected not only with preservation of beautiful, ancient views, but also with principles of its forming (both withing the shape and withing the essence). In the whole, above mentioned cases is necessary, according with author's opinion, close connection between the view and "composition plan" of the city.
