The OPC-based integrated simulation platform for marine engine simulation system

System simulation technology is concerned with the high and new technologies in the areas of computer, networking, figure & picture, multimedia, software engineering, information processing, automatic control and so on. The integrated, efficient and reliable simulation platform plays a critical role in developing simulation systems. The integrated simulation platform based on the integration of the latest technical achievements on the related areas, which could lead to much higher performances of simulation systems and make their developments much flexible, has become a hot number in system simulation technology. In this paper, we will introduce a type of solution of ISP proposed in order to meet the requirements in developing the marine engine room simulator. The focus will be paid on the data acquisition, for which the OPC-based Client/Server model is used to achieve more flexibility and interoperability among different hardware devices and different software toolkits. By using the OPC Automation Interface, a technical scheme to develop the OPC-compliant marine engine simulation system based on the Modbus OPC Server is introduced.

W rozwoju nowych systemów symulacyjnych istotną rolę odgrywa zastosowanie odpowiednich technologii informatycznych. Jednym z rozwiązań należących do omawianego obszaru zastosowań jest zintegrowana platforma symulacyjna. W artykule przedstawiono istotę ISP (Integrated Simulation Platform) i możliwości jej wykorzystania do projektowania odnośnego symulatora siłowni okrętowej. Dużą wagę przypisano zagadnieniu akwizycji danych, do której wykorzystano model klient/serwer, oparty na OPC (OLE™ for Process Control) technology. Zastosowanie technologii OPC pozwala na uzyskanie dużej elastyczności i interoperacyjności między różnymi urządzeniami hardwarowymi oraz różnymi narzędziami oprogramowania. Dodatkowo, wykorzystanie specjalnego interfejsu (OPC Automation Interface), pozwala na uzyskanie kompatybilnego z technologią OPC symulatora siłowni okrętowej, opartego na rozwiązaniu Modbus OPC Server.
