The article presents information on updating of the laboratory proper testing method used for determination of hexavalent chromium in textile materials. UV-VIS spectrofotometry was described for the determination of chromium (VI) in extraction solutions.

In the article the compilation of tests performed in Laboratory of Chemical Testing and Instrumental Analysis for commercial customers in years 2014 – 2015 was performed. The most popular testing methods giving the information about quality and safety of textile materials were discussed. The purposefulness of the tests performing was justified.

In the present work European Union legal regulations in the area of toy safety were discussed. The migration of certain elements from textile toy materials has been studied. Flame atomic absorption spectrometry was described for the determination of cobalt, copper, manganese and strontium in migration solutions.
