In the paper, it is summarised the Vitrifies views on role of drawing in architectonic practice. Up till now this subject has not been thoroughly investigated. It is discussed also significance of illustrations in consecutive editions of the treatise. For as they were executed more then 1500 years after the text had been written, they are in some way, only interpretation of historic issues.
