Sewage treatment plants are considered as the most effective elements of each water quality protection scenario. When limited funds make construction of all objects impossible a decision maker has to verify a plan and pick up from the list the sewage treatment plants of the highest priority. Here it is presented a method of supporting a decision process in which the optimal time schedule of sewage treatment plants construction in a large river basin has to be determined.

Gospodarka wodna jako obszar zarządzania ulega zmianom nie zawsze uświadomionym przez środowisko zawodowe, zmianom, z którymi pewnie trzeba się pogodzić. Może powinniśmy powrócić do korzeni, do definicji gospodarki wodnej, do celów jakie zamierzamy osiągnąć? Oczekujemy, że Autor zechce kontynuować tę problematykę na naszych łamach. Zachęcamy do tego także innych Czytelników.

The Author which is an outstanding expert in problems of water management points to weaknesses of existing structure of management. Water management as an area of administration is undergoing changes which not always are noticed by professional circle, but which must be accepted by us. Perhaps we should look back upon the roots, the definition of water management targets which are to be achieved? We expect the Author will feel inclined to continue those problems in the columns of our magazine. We would like also to encourage other our readers to take part in the discussion.

Każdy jubileusz jest okazją do podsumowania osiągnięć oraz prognozowania dalszych losów. W referacie scharakteryzowano osiągnięcia czasopisma, ograniczając się do syntetycznych danych statystycznych oraz skomentowania przytoczonych cytatów z wybranych artykułów. Stanowią one dobrą charakterystykę zmieniających się na przestrzeni ubiegłych 15 lat poglądów na kwestie zarządzania gospodarką wodną, dużych inwestycji hydrotechnicznych oraz proekologicznego spojrzenia hydrotechni-ków na inwestycje gospodarki wodnej. Omówiono również kilka perspektywicznych problemów i uwarunkowań gospodarki wodnej, które naszym zdaniem będą się pojawiały na łamach czasopisma w najbliższych latach.

Every jubilee gives the opportunity to recapitulate the achievements and to prognose the futer fates. The paper characterizes the achievements of the magazine in form of statistical data and comments on the cited excerptions from some selected articles. They give a very good characteristic of changes in views on the problems of management of water systems, large hydrotechnical investments and proecological approach of hydrologists to water management projects. There are presented also some perspective problems and confitions of water management which in opinion of the Authors will undoubtedly occur in the columns of the magazine in the years to come.
