The electromagnetic field occurring in the environment is generated by, among others, an extensive power network as well as a network of mobile phone transmitting and receiving stations. It carries some risks towards humans and the environment. In order to limit the harmful effects of the electromagnetic field, regular measurements are made informing about exceeding the permissible limits and several technical and organizational methods to eliminate the risks posed by the electromagnetic field are being used.

The constantly increasing density of the power grid as well as the number of stationary bases of mobile telephony increases the impact of the elec-tromagnetic field on organisms and the surrounding environment. According to the guidelines forced by law in each country, measurements of the permissible limits of the electromagnetic field are being performed on a regular basis, ac-cordingly to the sources emission frequency. Different methods are being used to conduct such measurements, but new, more efficient and faster solutions are being sought.
