In the first part of our paper, the general characteristics of lead (II) and L-ascorbic acid concerning their occurrence, application, physicochemical properties and biological significance have been presented. In the second part, the studies on complex formation reactions (L-ascorbic acid was ligand and lead (II) was central ion) and conditions of their formation have been described and durability constants [beta1] and [beta2] have been presented. The third part of paper presents the results of preliminary researches conducted on the biological material. Their aim is to find relations between the C vitamin level and lead (II) concentration in environmental and professional exposure to lead (II).
