Wykorzystanie narzędzi multimedialnych i elearningu w procesie dydaktycznym zostało przedstawione na przykładzie nauczania przedmiotu Podstawy Elektrotechniki na AGH w Krakowie. Rozwój nauczania na odległość umożliwia łączenie tradycyjnych zajęć z nauczycielem z nauczaniem przez Internet. Wśród tych pierwszych, szczególną rolę odgrywają zajęcia laboratoryjne, które dzięki eksperymentom prowadzonym przez samych studentów pomagają im zrozumieć studiowane zagadnienia. Autorki zwracają uwagę na dwie kwestie. Pierwsza to wykorzystanie narzędzi multimedialnych podczas ćwiczeń laboratoryjnych – w szczególności wykorzystanie programów symulacyjnych. Druga, to ocena różnych form zajęć przez studentów, z punktu widzenia ich przydatności w procesie uczenia się. Wyniki ankiet wypełnionych przez studentów wskazują na laboratoria, zwłaszcza na tradycyjne laboratorium pomiarowe, jako na najbardziej dla studentów przydatne zajęcia.

The problem of multimedia and e-learning application in the didactic process illustrated by the teaching of electrical engineering was described in the text. The development in online learning makes it possible to participate only in some face to face learning activities, while using Internet for others, taking the advantage of the best of both environments. Laboratory activities not only support better analysis of studied phenomena, but they also teach to work with different virtual tools offered by modern technology. Laboratory classes can have two different forms –a simulation or measurements in a real electric circuit. Both forms can be blended what “forces” students’ groups to cooperate, while exchanging information about received results or consulting the circuit parameters and its structure. Thanks to that, students learn how to perform a group project, divide responsibilities, carry out the synthesis of various pieces of information and jointly prepare conclusions. Such soft skills are nowadays very important from the perspective of the potential employer. The second important problem analyzed in the text is the students’ perception and assessment of different forms of classes. The analysis is based on the questionnaire filled in by students of different faculties of the AGH University of Science and Technology. Students had to rank different forms of teaching, according to their value as the support in understanding the topics taught. They pointed a traditional measuring laboratory as the best one from this point of view while traditional classes at the blackboard were ranked in the second place. Computer simulations were rated the third most useful teaching form. Results of the questionnaire analysis show that the real experiment is the essential element of engineer’s education. However such multimedia tools like smartphones, tablets, programs for data analyses, graphic programs are perceived by students as essential equipment necessary for studying.

As a game can be considered a prototype of culture as well as a metaphor, a simulacrum, and a simulation of the real world, the article is a reflection on architecture seen through the prism of three very old games: hide-and-seek, musical chairs and the goose game.

The subclass of 2D cellular automata with one graph of connections

We describe how the rules for binary two-dimensional cellular automata with von Neumann neighborhood can be created depending on the appropriate graphs of connections. Those graphs are closely connected with configurations for which the new state of automaton cell stays one. We describe the group of rules created for the chosen symmetric graph which is the same for a few groups of configurations. We analyze how they influence the behavior of cellular automata. We observed that almost all cellular automata with one symmetric graph process the input signal in similar way. Thanks to that, in the analyses of other such subclasses of cellular automata (with other symmetric graphs of connections) we can limit ourselves to the examination of the final state achieved by only one cellular automaton with representing this group rule. It lets us make the process of searching cellular automata with the complex behavior easier.

The class of cellular automata created by the rules with the same graph of connections

One of possible class of two-dimensional cellular automata created by rules with one graph of connections is described in the paper. Basing on the computer simulation, the behaviour of cellular automata generated by rules with rotated and mirror reflected graph is tested. Close similarity between these cellular automata is observed. They process the initial signal (picture) in qualitatively the same way. Thanks to obtained results we can expect that searching of the cellular automata space in order to extract automata with interesting behaviour can be easier. It can be reduced to testing only one cellular automaton representing such class connected with one graph of connections.

The paper describes the idea of searching the space of 2D cellular automata rules using the graphs of connections. Nodes are the "one" cells in the configurations for which the rule takes the value "1". Branches of a graph connect all "ones" in given configuration. The same graph when only rotated or mirror reflected is connected with group of rules, which generate the same behaviour of the cellular automaton. Thanks to that the computer investigation of automata space, in order to extract automata with interesting behaviour, can be reduced to test representatives of distinguish groups.

This lecture is aimed at those who believe in the need for a theory of design. Today this need is great, and it can be recognized in the contradictory nature of the examples provided by contemporary architecture. A unitary viewpoint - that civil consciousness that has always formed the basis for the art of construction - should serve as the foundation for such a theory, but architecture, as in art, such a viewpoint seems to have been lost.

Response of plant and animal cells to high shear environment has been investigated during in vitro cultivation in a bioreactor with Rushton type impeller. Investigations have shown that agitation affects regrowth ability and viability of cells as well as cell aggregate structure and size distribution. A multifractal theory describing the fine scale structure of turbulence, including its intermittency, is employed to describe the cell-aggregate breakage process. The model predicts transient aggregate size distributions in agreement with experimental data.
