The lubricity of organic deposits (D-layer) formed when the lubricant contacts the hot metallic surface has been studied. The load carrying capacity and frictional properties of the D-layers produced by the oil with an additive of the ZnDTP type on platinum have been investigated by electrophysical probing. The emphasis was placed on the effect of temperature in the contact zone on behavior of the D-layers; their possible role in the mechanism of boundary lubrication is discussed.

Autorzy badali smarność warstewek utworzonych ze związków organicznych (tzw. warstewki D) na skutek kontaktu środka smarowego z gorącą powierzchnią tarcia. Wyznaczono przeciwzatarciowe i przeciwcierne właściwości takich warstewek dla powierzchni platyny smarowanej olejem z dodatkiem ZDDP. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono wpływowi temperatury w strefie styku na właściwości warstewek D oraz ich rolę w smarowaniu granicznym.
