The paper presents the problem of excessive air pollution in Poland caused mainly by low emission. The emission arises in result of heating flats by means of old and energetically inefficient heating installations. In Poland and Bulgaria the inhaled air is of the worst quality out of all EU countries. The paper presents economic and technical problems related to low emission occurring during the combustion of solid fuels in local boiler houses. Furthermore, the most significant economic issues, connected with the reduction of low emission are discussed, as well as technological possibilities of efficient reduction of the amount of pollution in the atmosphere. Conclusions are presented at the end of the article.

The article presents the analysis of the potential of using biomass and coal co-firing in the Polish electro energetic system and shows the benefits resulting from an increase of biomass amount in electricity production in one of the largest Polish power stations. The paper discusses the most often used technologies for biomass co-firing and the potential of using biomass in electricity production in Poland. It also emphasises the fact that biomass co-firing allows a reduction of greenhouse gases emissions to the atmosphere and helps decrease consumption of energy resources. The article also emphasises the economic meaning of increasing the share of renewable energy resources in energy balance, including biomass, due to costs related to greenhouse gases emissions charges. Finally, conclusions from using biomass and coal co-firing in electricity production are presented.

The paper presents a concept for the construction of an inspecting-sorting automatic machine for pharmaceutical vials. Results of testing quality parameters of vials on a test stand are discussed in the main part of the article. The possibility of analyzing all possible quality parameters of vials in the CCD measurement system was pointed out. Moreover, a scheme of the flow of vials through inspection points used during testing was presented as well as a mathematical analysis was made of selected design issues of the inspecting - sorting machine that allows inspection of the whole area of a pharmaceutical vial. The results of the research were applied to the construction of transport elements of an inspecting - sorting machine for products designated for the pharmaceutical, medical and glass products industry.

The paper addresses the possibilities of applying the cam_gate system to product quality control. Particular attention is paid to the concept of the test stand simulating the operation of the product quality control automatic machine with the use of the CCD camera. Dimensional parameters of rollers were measured by means of a micrometer screw and the CCD camera at the simulation stand in the cam_gate system and the results of measurements were compared. The paper presents the cost system structure of an enterprises and factors affecting the selection of inspecting-sorting automatic machines in the aspect of the prescribed quality parameters which condition the optimal selection.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości zastosowania automatów kontrolno--sortujących dla wyrobów o małych wymiarach z wykorzystaniem kamer CCD (do kontroli czynnej). Przedstawione rozwiązanie koncepcyjne automatu kontrolnego pozwala na jego wykorzystanie dla różnych wyrobów pod warunkiem wymiany elementów prowadzących. Bezpośrednie połączenie modułu kontrolnego z komputerem umożliwia automatyczne sterowanie przebiegiem procesu produkcyjnego i wpływa na aktualne ustawienie parametrów jakościowych procesu.

On the basis of the author's investigations in this paper the opportunities of employing the control-sorting machines for the small-sized goods with the use of cameras CCD (to active control) have been presented. A novelty of a conceptual solution of a control device enables to apply it to the different goods if a leading elements are replaced. The direct connection a control module with a computer allows to control a course of a production process automatically and influences on a current arrangement of the quality parameters of this process.
