The paper presents an application of the boundary element technique modified to solutions of two- and three-dimensional problems of the direct current electrical prospecting. The method of spline approximation of boundary surfaces is described. Numerical investigations of solution accuracy are made and an example of the electric field calculation in the uniform half-space with an arbitrary form inclusion is presented.

Preliminary report on the electric resistivity measurements in situ of the bedrock beneath the Czorsztyn-Niedzica dam is presented; an analysis is related to the period of filling-up the water reservoir in 1993-1996. Description of the four-electrode measurement system and the equipment is accompanied brief geological information. In theoretical part, some simple two-layer models of water percolation from reservoir bottom are presented. Numerical calculations of rock resistivity are made and compared with the experimental results obtained in the boreholes under the Czorsztyn-Niedzica dam.
