This paper presents experimental results of different subject perception of real and electronically generated musical instrument sounds. The experiment was tested on 20 listeners consisted of two groups of 10 people with and without musical experiences. The experiment was carried out using 11 popular instruments in three series. In this experiment the following instruments were used: two keyboards, two sound modules, equipment and programme synthesizers of firms such as Yamaha, Roland and Korg. The main conclusion of this experiment is that naturalness of sounds produced from a synthesizer was of a lower quality than the sounds generated by real instrument. People with no musical experience were particularly critical of the difference in the naturalness of sound between an electronic and real instrument. Results obtained are discussed in the paper.

This paper presents experimental results of perception of time irregularity in rhythmical patterns. The experiment was performed by twelve listeners of various music experiences. In thirteen tests carried by 2AFC method listeners determined the time threshold of minimal differences in rhythmical series of percussion instruments. Following series was changed by complexity of rhythms, tempo, kind of instrument, metrum and in the last test melody line were introduced for masking irregularity in rhythm. The main conclusion of these experiments is that introduction to rhythmical patterns even minimal time irregularity is perceived by men. The obtained time threshold for musicians was 18 [ms] at 120 [bmp] and 33,2 [ms] at 60 [bmp]. The others results are discussed in the paper.

Wiadukt 18-przęsłowy całkowitej długości 330 m rozebrano po 34 latach eksploatacji, ze względu na jego stan techniczny. Nową ramową konstrukcję ustroju nośnego tworzą prefabrykowane belki strunobetonowe typu T wysokości 90 cm, zespolone z płytą żelbetową grubości 24 cm i połączone sztywno z podporami pośrednimi.

The eighteen span and 330 m long flyover in Skierniewice because of its critical state of strength, had to be dismantled after 34 year of exploitation. The new framed structure built of prestressed girders type "T" 90 cm high, composed with 24 cm thick RC deck and rigid fixed on intermediate piers was put into effect.

Sound compression algorithms utilize many different methods of coding. Many of them use psychoacoustics models. Good audio coding performance has been obtained with various frequency domain coders. Psychoacoustical algorithms are based mainly on frequency and temporal masking. In the paper some of sound compression algorithms is presented. Main trends in sound compression is discussed. Application of mp3 algorithms in classical music was tested.

Konstrukcja podpór i ustroju nośnego (z belek strunobetonowych korytkowych) dwu wiaduktów zbudowanych w latach 1973-1974 musiała być rozebrana i zastąpiona nową. Opisano sposób wykonania prac modernizacyjnych.
