Globalization and Deglobalization – Costs and Benefits, Winners and Losers

Still at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21th century it was a common belief that the world had just entered a new civilisational paradigm, completely different from all the previous ones in the history of the mankind. The new paradigm was called ‘globalization’ and although it had never been precisely defined, the term stirred up a very animated dispute: there were fervent enthusiasts and fervent opponents of everything that was as inexactly defined as globalization. Both enthusiasts and opponents agreed what phenomena made globalization up, but the assessment of those phenomena was diametrically different; according to the enthusiasts globalization reduced famine in the world, stimulated development and growth, decreased unemployment, improved the quality of natural environment, created new global democracy and was the only reasonable option for the mankind; and according to the opponents globalization increased famine in the world, made development and growth stop or even diminish, aggravated unemployment, lowered the quality of natural environment, destroyed human solidarity, stimulated corruption and was a path to hell. The impact of globalization and deglobalization on different areas of economy and society is a topic of several discussions and publications.

Natomiast historyk gospodarczy bez uogólniających rozważań ekonomisty byłby skazany na poszukiwanie po ciemku, bez busoli, bez drogowskazów. Dzięki wiedzy historycznej mogły się rozwinąć badania ekonomiczne, z drugiej strony - dopiero wraz z rozwojem ekonomii posunęły się naprzód badania z zakresu historii gospodarczej, która ukształtowała się jako samodzielna dyscyplina dopiero na początku XX wieku. Oznacza to również, że niezbędne jest podnoszenie poziomu wiedzy historycznej ekonomistów, w tym i finansistów, co oczywiście nie jest tożsame z postulatem , aby wszyscy znali się tak samo dobrze na wszystkim.[...]

Manche behaupten, daß Geschichte die Lehrerin des Lebens (historia magistra vitae) ist. Andere dagegen, dass Menschen aus der Geschichte nichts gelernt haben. Es besteht kein Zweifel, dass Ökonomie (darunter auch Finanzen) mit Wirtschaftsgeschichte sehr eng verbunden ist. Diese Wissenschaften haben ein identisches Forschungsobjekt. Wirtschaftsgeschichte ist ein Teil der Geschichte, als auch der Ökonomie. Sowohl Ökonomie, als auch Geschichte haben ihre spezifischen Eigenschaften. Ein Ökonomist wäre ohne Wirtschaftshistoriker gezwungen, fiktive Modelle zu bauen und die Intuition zu benutzen. Ein Wirtschaftshistoriker wäre ohne die verallgemeinernden Überlegungen eines Ökonomists gezwungen, im Dunkeln, ohne Bussole, ohne Wegweiser zu suchen.

W ostatnich latach ekonomiści poświęcają coraz większą uwagą problematyce mikrofmansów, mikro-ubezpieczeń, mikrokredytu i instytucji mikrofmansowych. Praca jest próbą ukazania osobliwości i głównych źródeł finansowania mikro i małych przedsiębiorstw. Ta grupa przedsiębiorstw odgrywa ważną rolę w rozwoju. Tezą pracy jest stwierdzenie, że niezbędna jest analiza komparatywna źródeł finansowania.

In recent years economists have begun to look more closely at the microfinance, microinsurance microcredit and microfinancial institutions. The paper is an attempt to present a specificity and the main sources of the financing of micro and small-sized enterprises. This group of enterprices plays an important role intl development. The thesis of paper is a statement that a comparative analysis of the financing sources is need sary.
