The article presents modeling of loading platforms for the automated command system of a field artillery battalion mounted on the light wheeled chassis. According to the operational requirements, the field battalion should be tailored to be transported by the transport aircraft C-130E Hercules, which requires limiting the weight and dimensions of vehicles. Since a vehicle cab height is equal with the exact centimeter precise to the aircraft cargo bay height, it is necessary to reduce the relevant vehicle height by lowering the tire pressures in order to obtain an adequate margin.

The article presents a dynamometer test stand for diesel engines used in contemporary trucks and specialist military equipment. The stand makes it possible to test the operating parameters of the whole integrated driveline or the engine itself and to perform a wide range of engine and gearbox diagnostics. The paper contains the results of measurements of respective parameters of the engine and the integrated driveline during their steady-state operation. Tests were carried out for one complete integrated driveline and two DI-12 engines operating independently.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań sygnałów drganiowych zarejestrowanych na kadłubie przelotowej przekładni mostowej kołowego pojazdu czteroosiowego przeprowadzonych na stanowisku dynamometrycznym z tłokowym silnikiem spalinowym jako źródłem napędu oraz na stanowisku badawczym z silnikiem elektrycznym jako źródłem napędu elementów tej przekładni. Badania te przeprowadzono pod kątem oceny przydatności danego stanowiska badawczego do opracowania metody wibroakustycznego diagnozowania przekładni mostowych tego pojazdu. Opisano stanowiska badawcze, w tym ich konfigurację, przyjęty sposób sterowania oraz konfigurację toru rejestracji i analizy sygnałów drganiowych. Przeprowadzono analizę zjawisk dynamicznych związanych z pracą stanowisk badawczych, będących źródłem drgań. Przedstawiono i przeanalizowano widma amplitudowo-częstotliwościowe sygnałów drganiowych zarejestrowanych w wybranych punktach na kadłubach badanej przekładni mostowej pracującej z wybranymi prędkościami obrotowymi silników napędzających. Wskazano, że stanowisko badawcze z silnikiem elektrycznym jest bardziej przydatne do opracowania prostej metody wibroakustycznego diagnozowania przekładni mostowych. Wskazano kierunki ewentualnych dalszych badań mogących pozwolić na opracowanie takiej metody.

The paper presents the results of vibration signals recorded on the hull of drive axis of cruising transmission of eight wheeled vehicle performed on the dynamometer stand with reciprocating internal combustion engine as a power source and on the test bench with an electric motor as the power source of the transmission. These studies were conducted in order to evaluate the suitability of the test bench to develop a method of vibroacoustic diagnosing of drive axle of the vehicle. Described test benches, including their configuration, method of controlling and configuration of the track record and analysis of vibration signals. Performed analysis of dynamic effects related to the work of test stands, which are a source of vibration. Presented and analyzed spectral amplitude-frequency vibration signals recorded at selected points on the hulls of driving axis, working with selected engines speeds. It was pointed out that test stand with the electric motor is more useful to develop a simple method of drive axis vibroacoustic diagnosis. The directions of optional further research that would allow to develop such a method are presented.

Opisano metodykę weryfikacji stanu technicznego sześciu przekładni mostowych pochodzących z pojazdów opancerzonych poddanych silnemu impulsowi ciśnienia. Przedstawiono warsztatowe metody oceny stanu technicznego przekładni mostowych, możliwe do zastosowania w warunkach polowych. Opisano warunki i metodykę przeprowadzonych badań przekładni, które obejmowały: pomiary luzu międzyzębnego (obwodowego) dla różnych współpracujących kół zębatych, pomiary śladu przylegania i wyznaczenie oporów wewnętrznych przekładni. Wyników badań przeanalizowano w aspekcie wykorzystania zastosowanych metod do oceny przydatności przekładni mostowych w warunkach eksploatacyjnych.

Article describes Technical condition for verification methodology of six driving axles from armored vehicle exposed to strong pressure pulse are described in this article. Simply workshop methods for assessing the technical condition of the driving axle are presented, possible to use in field conditions. The conditions and methodology of the gears research are described, including backlash measurements (peripheral) for different gears mating, measurements and determination of gears trace adhesion and gears internal resistance. Test results were analyzed in terms of the use of the method to assess the suitability of the driving axle in operational conditions.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań stanowiskowych wybranych przekładni mostowych czteroosiowego pojazdu napędzanych silnikiem elektrycznym. Badania te przeprowadzono w celu opracowania metody wibroakustycznego diagnozowania przekładni. Opisano stanowisko badawcze, w tym jego konfigurację, konfigurację toru rejestracji i analizy sygnałów drganiowych i rodzaje badanych przekładni mostowych. Przeprowadzono analizę zjawisk dynamicznych będących źródłem drgań stanowiska badawczego. Przedstawiono i przeanalizowano widma amplitudowo-częstotliwościowe drgań zarejestrowanych w wybranych punktach kadłubów badanych przekładni pracujących z różnymi wartościami prędkości obrotowej silnika. Wskazano, że postać zarejestrowanych sygnałów drganiowych na obecnym etapie badań daje potencjalną możliwość opracowania prostej metody wibroakustycznego diagnozowania przekładni na stanowisku badawczym. Wskazano kierunki dalszych badań mogących pozwolić na opracowanie dokładniejszej metody diagnostycznej.

In Paper show results of selected gear transmission testing of four axis vehicle, propelled by electric engine at test stand. Research were held to determine vibroacoustic method of transmission examination. Described test stand, its configuration control method, configuration of signal registration, measuring circuit, signals analysis and types of measured transmissions. Analysis of dynamic effects as a source of vibrations, caused by test stand operation was held. Pointed out that registered vibroacoustic signal at present stage give potential possibility of simple method of transmission diagnosis at test bench. Further course of research, enabling to elaborate accurate diagnostic method was indicated.

W referacie przedstawiono stanowisko dynamometryczne do badania zintegrowanego zespołu napędowego KTO Rosomak. Stanowisko to umożliwia badanie parametrów pracy układu napędowego oraz prowadzenie szerokiej diagnostyki w przypadku wystąpienia awarii. Wyniki pomiarów prowadzonych na silniku remontowanym po wybuchu miny pod pojazdem są przedstawione w końcowej części referatu.

The dynamometer test stand for investigating the AMV Rosomak integrated propulsion system is discussed in the paper. The stand enables the measurement of propulsion system parameters and extended diagnostics in case of damage. The investigation results of an engine overhaul after an IED explosion are shown at the end of the paper.

It has been assessed engine test bench usefulness for vibroacoustic process’s studies which accompany to AMV Rosomak driving axle’s operating. The way of available measurement and analysis equipment utilization has been given. There are presented the amplitude-frequency spectrum of vibration signals registered by accelerometer which is mounted in various ways in a few measuring points on driving axle’s body. The conclusions and recommendations regarding of further studies has been formed.

The methodology of measuring the vibration signal recorded on the casing of wheeled armoured vehicle ROSOMAK driving axis is presented. The study was performed on a test bench for different transmission conditions. A preliminary analysis of the frequency spectra vibration signals recorded. The test stand allows investigation of the differential axle gears under load similar to load during duty operation. It was possible by using the combustion engine and gearboxes and load transmission by using the dynamometer break. Have been described. Three methods of attaching acceleration sensors to differential gears: using screws, magnetic washers and probe handle. The results of comparisons of measurement results obtained using these methods. Finally, the sensors was mount by using the screw connections. Selected positions and points of temperature and vibration measures were described. Values of characteristic frequencies of differential axle gears vibration by moving the drive torque through these boxes were calculated. The spectra of the vibration signal determined during testing gearboxes were shown. It was state that of amplitude-frequency vibration spectra of signals recorded at selected points of differential axle gears casing are clearly visible characteristic frequencies but the vibration the bridge gear unit bridges distorted by vibration of the internal combustion engine and gearboxes. In a further stage of research should be included much larger number of the driving axis differentials investigated in various states of well-known technical conditions and should be lead accord to requirements of the active diagnostic experiment.

The methodology of research and the inspection of the main transmission gearboxes of multi axles armoured vehicle ROSOMAK under operating conditions are described in this article. Tests are carried out on the bench to allow force transmission changes to the extent similar to the loads that occur during vehicle operation. Transmission gear boxes are driven by an internal combustion engine 359 through a reducer (standard engine gearbox). This reducer increase torque and decrease shaft speed similar to condition in the vehicle. On the other side of the transmission, multiplying gearbox coupled with a brake dynamometer were placed. It increases speed according to requirements of the work field of the dynamometer W-230. The combustion engine made possible to measure vibration of transmission gearboxes under the high torque. The torque is greater than obtainable by using electric motors. The value of the inertia moment loading axle shaft was determined using a simplified kinematic diagram. During the tests, vibration were measured at selected points of the housing using different methods of attachment of vibration transducers. First, the screw for assembling the vibration sensor was glued to the hull of gearbox. Second, the sensor was connected with gearbox by permanent magnets. Third, the sensor was used as a hand probe. The results of vibration measured by these methods were compared. Temperature of the gearbox was also measured by using thermocouples and thermovision methods. Selected results are presented and analysed of vibration transmission and its temperature at selected working conditions.

Description of the test stand for investigation of the integrated powertrain (powerpack) for armoured modular vehicle (AMV), disassembled from vehicle, is presented in this paper. The powerpack unit consist of a diesel engine, a gearbox and a cooling unit with a hydraulic fan drive. The stand is equipped with measuring devices for torque measure, fuel consumption, exhaust smoke and exhaust gas components emission analysers. The powerpack has been loaded by a hydraulic dynamometer of power range up to 1250 kW. It is dynabar water dynamometer with high dynamics of load changes. For control the motor and drive, system the original control panels from the vehicle was used. The original start-up unit, mid fuel tank and air filters were used too. Research on the powerpack unit was made in the steady state versus the engine load and speed. The parameters of the engine and exhaust components were measured and compared with the catalogue values. Two modes of engine work were compared – economic and dynamic modes. Those differences between two modes are result of maximum fuel consumption decreasing. The parameters of engine work were comparable in middle and low range of engine load. On the stand investigation in transient states during free engine acceleration were made. It was found that additional load of engine is too high and this problem should be clarified.

The paper describes standard methods of diagnosing of the AMV (the Rosomak) drive unit technical condition used in daily operation in military missions in Afghanistan. Main rule of the method of diagnosing of the vehicle technical condition is using an external diagnosing system. This system is connected to the vehicle at the time of checking of operation of the powertrain control system configuration of the drive unit to permit the diagnosis, including examination of the engine and gearbox. Enhanced diagnostic system is connected to the OBD system with using standard PC computer with appropriate software. Stored examples of the results of the operation of such system are included in the paper. Measuring was led on a dynamometer stand to perform research of a propulsion unit in work condition. Measurements of the engine parameters were led in steady state and transient engine operating conditions. Unsteady-state condition studies were carried out using the method of free-range acceleration of the engine. Pointed out the merits of the development of this type of study due to the perceived potential and usefulness of the results obtained. The results of studies carried out by various methods and assess the current condition of the engine and the entire powertrain were compared.

The methodology of the vehicle damage identification was presented in this article. Presented method used reverse engineering methodology for compare the shape of new vehicle, including CAD models of vehicle, and change of vehicle shape after damage. The method is based on three-dimensional scanning technology and photogrammetry. Identification of the defect is divided into two areas: the accurate reproduction of the vehicle surface damage and measure only changes of the base point’s position. In a first method, scanning large areas of vehicle requires connection of the consecutive scanning images of the surface to an object stuck in a random reference points. They form a grid of completing successive scanning images with very high accuracy of the surface point’s position. Measuring the angle and length between reference points, scanned surface is measured and digitized by software. However, do not always have to make as accurate measurements. In the second method there is measured only position of the vehicle base points. They may be dispersed very rare so if a damage is very small position of base points does not change. Sometimes it is reasonable to use the first and the second method together. For this purpose, the photogrammetric system is used in the first stage of the scanning surface. The vehicle specific places that are so-called base points are equipped with appropriate measuring adapters. Taking pictures of the object from these points programmatically determine the distance between reference points. This paper presents a method of surface scanning and processing on digital image scans of the vehicle for the calculation of standard deviations between the surface and the reference points. Presented adapters are used for measurement of base point’s position. Examples of calculations results of base point’s location in multi-wheeled AMV vehicle are described and illustrated in the paper.

W opracowaniu przedstawiono metodykę analizy uszkodzeń nadwozi i podwozi kołowych transporterów opancerzonych za pomocą skanera 3D umożliwiającego trójwymiarową analizę obiektów przestrzennych. Zaprezentowano zasadę działania urządzenia oraz jego możliwości badawcze. Przeanalizowano możliwości metody na przykładzie uszkodzeń pojazdów. Oceniono dokładność pomiarów uszkodzeń transporterów przed naprawą i po niej.

This paper presents methodology for battle damage verifications of hulls and chassis of military vehicles by using 3D scanning system, which enable us three-dimensional analysis of spatial objects. The operation principles and research capabilities of the system were presented. It was analyzed what are the possibilities of the method by measuring real battle damages. The accuracy of measurements was rated both before and after repair.

W badaniach użyto wodę oraz jej 25% i 50% mieszaniny z glikolem propylenowym i etylenowym. Oceniono wpływ zastosowanej cieczy o podwyższonej temperaturze na intensywność odprowadzania ciepła z układu chłodzenia.

The paper presents the results of an investigation of three cooling liquids used in the pressure a cooling system. To conduct the investigation water and 25% and 50% of water mixture with propylene glycol and ethylene glycol was used. It assesses the effect of the high temperature liquid used on the intensity of carrying away the heat from the cooling system was assessed.

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane problemy dotyczące pasywnej i aktywnej ochrony współczesnych wozów bojowych. Scharakteryzowano krótko scenariusze działania sił zbrojnych i zagrożenia, jakie wynikają z obecnie stosowanych przeciwpancernych środków bojowych, takich jak ręczne granatniki przeciwpancerne, przeciwpancerne pociski kierowane, pociski podkalibrowe, pociski kinetyczne oraz miny i improwizowane ładunki wybuchowe. Przedstawiono stosowane obecnie pasywne i reaktywne osłony wozów bojowych, chroniące załogi podczas uderzenia pocisków w pojazdy. Przeanalizowano fazy wykrywania zagrożenia oraz reakcji na występujące zagrożenia, w tym czas niezbędny na skuteczną odpowiedź systemu ochrony. Scharakteryzowano środki przeciwdziałania zagrożeniom pojazdów, stosowane w układach aktywnej ochrony. Przedstawiono właściwości niektórych opracowanych obecnie systemów aktywnej ochrony wozów bojowych oraz ich podstawowe parametry taktyczno – techniczne.

This paper introduces the basic problems relating to the passive and active protection of present fighting vehicles. The author briefly describes the scenarios of the operations of armed forces and threats resulting from the use of armour-piercing guns, such as armour-piercing grenade hand launchers, armour-piercing missiles, sub-calibre projectiles, kinetic bullets, land mines and improvised explosive devices. The article presents passive and reactive protections of fighting vehicles used now, protecting crews when the vehicle is being hit by a projectile. The stages of detecting the threat and reacting to it are analysed, including the time required so that the protection system can respond appropriately. The author describes the means of counteracting the threats posed to vehicles, used in the systems of active protection. Proprieties of some of the systems of the active protection of fighting vehicles and their basic tactical and technical parameters are described.

W artykule przedstawiono metodykę analizy uszkodzeń tłokowych silników spalinowych za pomocą skanera 3D umożliwiającego trójwymiarową analizę obiektów przestrzennych. Przedstawiono zasadę działania urządzenia oraz jego możliwości badawcze. Przeanalizowano możliwości metody na przykładzie uszkodzeń eksploatacyjnych tłoków silnika o ZS zasilanego paliwem lekkim. Oceniono dokładność pomiarów uszkodzeń tłoków silnika.

The paper presents a methodology used to analyze damage of piston combustion engines by means of 3D scanner enabling three-dimensional analysis. It shows the principle of the device operation and its investigative potentials. Damage done to pistons in operation of engines burning fuel with low octane number was used to analyze the potentials offered by the method. It assesses the accuracy damage to engine piston measurements.

The paper presents a simulation model of an unmanned vehicle propulsion system designed and constructed at the Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engines WAT. The vehicle was modelled in the software environment AMESim. It is intended as a tool for modelling of mechatronic systems, and therefore it was possible to create a link between mechanical parameters such as gears, with elements from the fields of electrical engineering and electronics, such as electric motors and inverters. Presented undercarriage system modelled the platform with 6x6 and independent drive wheels. Presented model of the hybrid structure of a small unmanned vehicle and sub models driver module and the propulsion module battery charging electric current through a combustion engine (generator controls, the switching of electric current battery capacity following a drop below the desired value - for this calculation was 50% of battery capacity). Characteristics of parameters changes of sets are presented. Simulation study for two batteries of different capacities as an example of the synthetic driving test and analyzed the differences between the foundation and set of characteristics. It was found that the higher-capacity battery could provide a better change of speed.

Methodology of analysis of damages of piston combustion engines by using 3D scanner enabling threedimensional analysis of such damages was introduced in the study. The principle of the device operation and his investigative possibilities were introduced. Presented is a phased process of scanning. The possibilities of the method were analyzed on examples of the damaged pistons for this engine supplied by fuel with low octane number. Precision of the damage measurements were estimated. The piston is one of the busiest part of the engine. The effects of wear on its surface are irregular and difficult to quantify. Geometric shape changes are related to: - movement of material in the case of dry friction due to accidents, - loss of material due to burnout, - formation of carbon deposits. With the 3D scanner is possible to observe these processes and to quantify the resulting deformation. The measurement results can be edited in many different ways to connect them to present them in an accessible form. Moreover, data obtained in digital form, you can quickly send long-distance transport instead of the actual object which is costly and time consuming.
