All parts of the world are currently observing the increasing competitiveness. Companies wishing to continue to operate in the market can't afford to ignore this phenomenon, however, companies whose strategic goal is to gain a leading position in the sector have to find the best way to achieve their goals. There are many ways of competing, depending on the strategy of the company. The article, according to the author presents the best way to gain competitive advantage at the current market requirements - through high levels of quality and innovation. By reflecting on the competitiveness based within household sector the author presents the characteristics of the Polish household market and it's development potential, given the fact that Poland is becoming an increasingly significant producer of household appliances in Europe.

A company, which can effectively motivate employee achieve success more frequent than other. The real art is to motivate employees to behave in ways beneficial to the organization. The best situation is when corporate goals become employee own goals. The right way of motivation is generating profit both for employee and employer. There are many ways to motivate employees depending on viewpoints. The article presents the particular motivation method - employee participation. The special emphasis is placed on the quality aspect of this way of motivation and role of the management personnel in the participation. It presents among other things the Henri Fayol's opinion and confronts it with author's own research results in motivate field. The research was made in three big domestic appliances companies. Diagnosed the main motivate issue to pro-quality behavior, which are old participation methods and authoritarian management style. Showed also the potential paths to the situation improvement - improvement of work organization and all levels in-service training to bring the essence of participation.
