W artykule zostaną omówione wybrane aspekty dostosowania kształcenia matematycznego do specyfiki kierunku na przykładzie trzech kierunków matematycznych prowadzonych w Politechnice Łódzkiej. Analiza porównawcza będzie dotyczyć podejścia do kształcenia w ramach przedmiotów podstawowych, takich jak analiza matematyczna, algebra czy statystyka matematyczna oraz wpływu jego zróżnicowania na sylwetkę absolwenta. Wnioski końcowe dotyczą uzyskania pewnej uniwersalności tak prowadzonego kształcenia. Dzięki niemu kadra akademicka stale rozwija swoje kompetencje dydaktyczne, uwzględniając nowe trendy (metody kształcenia), w tym także pogłębiając umiejętności informatyczne. Swego rodzaju benefitem jest podniesienie atrakcyjności kierunków matematycznych wśród kandydatów na studia w Politechnice Łódzkiej oraz równolegle idące zainteresowanie pracodawców absolwentami tych kierunków.

The article discusses selected aspects of adapting mathematical education to the specifics of the field of study using the example of three mathematical fields of study conducted at the Lodz University of Technology. The comparative analysis concerns the approach to education within basic subjects, such as mathematical analysis, algebra, and mathematical statistics, and the impact of its differentiation on the graduate's profile. The fields discussed have a lot in common, but they also have significant differences. The common denominator is the mathematical competences possessed. The differences concern the distribution of: individual branches of mathematics, forms of classes, scope, or teaching methods used (including active methods such as flipped classroom, project based learning, case teaching), but also specialist issues. The final conclusions concern achieving a certain universality of education conducted in this way. Thanks to it, the academic staff continuosly develop their teaching competences, taking into account new trends (active methods of education), including deepening their IT skills. A certain benefit is the increase in the attractiveness of mathematical fields among candidates for studies at the Lodz University of Technology and the parallel interest of employers in graduates of these fields.
