The article introduces the high concentration activated sludge process as well as its related characteristics, which, based on the characteristics of the water quality and on the study in the former treatment projects and small-scaled lab experiments, was eventually used in the project of the treatment of 600 000 T per year coking waste water newly constructed by Changzhi steel and iron factory.
