The article describes the characteristics of the spatial disorientation simulator constructed for the Polish Air Force Academy aviation training. Using the spatial disorientation simulator enables safe training for military pilots, as it simulates visual illusions and spatial disorientation. The simulator makes it possible to train pilots in spatial disorientation conditions for every possible type of aircraft, through designing and conducting the proper aircraft cabin models. Spatial disorientation training has to main aims. The first one is familiarizing the pilots with spatial disorientation phenomenon, and providing them with essential knowledge and abilities through theoretical and practical acquaintance with physiological limitations. Such limitations are related to the impact of different aviation environmental aspects on the human body. The second aim of the training is increasing the efficiency of aviation training, in relation to recognizing, analyzing and proper reacting to real and simulated occurrences, which lead to spatial disorientation. The author describes main stages of the training conducted during the spatial disorientation course. The article categorizes major features of different spatial confusion types and characterizes types of air illusions.

The article highlights the issue of teaching English military terminology in uniformed classes. It draws the conclusions on conducting authorial military terminology syllabus in one of the schools carrying out the pedagogical innovation, which has assumed patronage of Polish Air Force Academy (PAFA). Military classes gained a huge popularity, having met the youth’s interest in armed for ces they became a key element in national defense education.

The article describes a comprehensive system of the ‘SELEKCJA’ system designed for the needs of flight training conducted at the Polish Air Force Academy. Selective training is the first stage of flight training aimed at preparing the candidates for the next stage that is a basic training. The selection in aviation is a continuous process which provides pilots to be verified on a daily basis. Flight training devices of the ‘SELEKCJA’ system used in flight training aim at improving the candidates’ selection process for the academy. After selective training in the aeroclub, training with the use of ‘SELEKCJA’ simulators is another verification tool. Computerized database of the system allows to track the progress of candidates to become pilots during their training on a military aircraft at the 4th School Aviation Wing. Additionally, the system contains all medical information on candidates while their stay at the academy.

Dokonano podziału symulatorów, jako narzędzi do szkolenia personelu lotniczego oraz przedstawiono ich budowę i zastosowanie. Opisano i scharakteryzowano symulatory lotnicze wykorzystywane w lotnictwie wojskowym Sił Zbrojnych RP.

The article presents the origin of flight simulators used as movable objects. The simulators were divided into categories and described as tools for training personnel. Their structure and applications were also presented. Moreover, the simulators used in military aviation of the Republic of Poland were characterized.

W artykule scharakteryzowano nowy proces szkolenia kandydatów na pilotów wojskowych realizowany w Wyższej Szkoły Oficerskiej Sił Powietrznych. Wyodrębniono w nim etapy oraz przedstawiono jego specyfikę organizacji w zależności od specjalności: pilot samolotu odrzutowego, pilot samolotu transportowego oraz pilot śmigłowca. Dodatkowo opisano szkolenie podchorążych w specjalnościach „pilotaż”, w pięcioletnim cyklu kształcenia. Zwrócono również uwagę na szczególną rolę Akademickiego Ośrodka Szkolenia Lotniczego w szkoleniu ucznia-pilota, jako instytucji określającej przydatność kandydata do zawodu pilota wojskowego oraz przygotowującej do uzyskania licencji zgodnie z zasadami lotnictwa cywilnego.

The article describes the new training process of candidates for military pilots provided at the Air Force Academy. It highlights stages and reveals its organisational specificity depending on the speciality of the jet pilot, transport aeroplane pilot and helicopter pilot. Additionally, the article describes cadet training in the “pilotage” speciality in a fiveyear education cycle. It also draws attention to the special role of the Academic Centre for Aviation Training in student pilot training as an institution determining a candidate’s suitability for the military pilot profession and preparing to obtain a license in accordance with civil aviation rules.

W artykule przedstawiono przykład integracji systemu Unified Communications z platformami usługowymi operatora telekomunikacyjnego. Zbudowany w Orange Labs prototyp systemu umożliwia wysyłanie wiadomości SMS i USSD oraz lokalizowanie terminala mobilnego, przy wykorzystaniu aplikacji użytkownika systemu Unified Communications. Dodatkowo przedstawiono ograniczenia we wdrażaniu tego typu aplikacji.

This paper presents a practical integration of an enterprise Unified Communications system with telecommunication service provider Service Delivery Platform. The system implemented in Orange Labs, enables sending SMS and USSD messages as well as geo-localizing of a user mobile terminal directly from the user interface of Unified Communications system. Restrictions in implementing this kind of applications were also presented.
