Artykuł prezentuje ewolucję rozwiązań w sieci dystrybucyjnej SN w aspekcie jej rozbudowy i modernizacji. Uwzględniono podstawowe bariery ograniczające możliwości realizacji inwestycji. Ewolucja sieci z modelu tradycyjnego w kierunku sieci typu „smart" stanowi zasadniczy wątek artykułu. Kluczowy problem stanowi zapewnienie sterowalności i obserwowalności sieci. Przedstawiono metody regulacji napięcia transformatorów dystrybucyjnych. Pomiar prądu i napięcia w sieci napowietrznej i kablowej może być realizowany w nowych technologiach, opartych na sensorach prądu i napięcia. Skutkuje to rozwojem zabezpieczeń nowej generacji. Autorzy przedstawili różne rozwiązania aparatury łączeniowej, stosowanej w sieci dystrybucyjnej SN, w różnych środowiskach izolacyjnych. Wprowadzanie telemechaniki i telemetrii do sieci dystrybucyjnej skutkuje również koniecznością zapewnienia cyberbezpieczeństwa.

The paper presents the evolution of the solutions in the MV distribution grid in the aspect of its expansion and modernization. The basic barriers, limiting the possibilities of investment realization, have been taken into account. The evolution of the grid, from the traditional model towards the smart grid, is the main topic of the article. The key problem is to ensure controllability and observability of the grid. The methods of the voltage regulation in the grid are presented. The new technologies of current and voltage measurement, based on sensors, are implemented in cable and overhead grid. That caused the development of the new generation of protection and control system. The various solutions of the primary circuits apparatus in the MV grid are presented, different insulation media has been taken into consideration. The appearance of telemechanics and telemetry in MV grid causes the necessity of the assurance of the cyber security.
