A class of very important industrial-grade biolubricants was synthesized from plant-derived fatty acids (oleic and isostearic acid) by direct esterifi cation of trimethylolpropane according to novel effective and high selective method using Sn bis(2-ethylhexanoate) as catalyst. Model transesterifi cation reactions were performed with oleic and isostearic acids to optimize the reaction conditions to obtain maximum content of TMP triesters. Used specifi c homogeneous Sn catalyst allows to obtain TMP esters with very high content of triesters, above of 94 wt% without deep vacuum purifying distillation. Both TMP esters were evaluated for their physicochemical and tribological properties using ASTM standards. Both TMP esters exhibited high viscosity indexes and excellent low temperature properties.

The article presents an analysis of the construction of CHMSL (Centre High-Mounted Stop Lamp) car lamps and a study of the influence of individual components on the photometric parameters (light intensity). The authors have conducted a detailed study of the various design elements and the impact of their settings on each photometric parameter of the tested lamp. There is also a presentation of research results on the impact of plastic injection technologies used to manufacture the lamp, such as holding pressure, holding time and injection speed, on the photometric parameters of the CHMSL lamp’s optical system.

Artykuł zawiera analizę budowy lampy samochodowej typu CHMSL, (ang. Centre High-Mounted Stop Lamp) oraz badania wpływu poszczególnych jej elementów konstrukcyjnych na parametry fotometryczne (natężenie światła). Autorzy przeprowadzili szczegółowe badania w zakresie wpływu konstrukcji poszczególnych elementów i ich ustawienia względem siebie na parametry fotometryczne badanej lampy. Przedstawiono również wyniki badań w zakresie wpływu wykonania elementów lampy w technologii wtrysku tworzyw sztucznych takich jak: ciśnienie docisku, czas docisku i prędkość wtrysku na parametry fotometryczne całego systemu optyczno-świetlnego lampy typu CHMSL.

Diuretics are medicines that intensify the diuresis process. There are several types of diuretics (high ceiling loop diuretics, thiazides, calcium-sparing diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, osmotic diuretics). Generally all of them increase excretion of water from a body. According to the Prohibited List published by the World Anti-Doping Agency diuretics make a group of substances which is prohibited in sport at all times (in- and out-of-competition). This review describes shortly an ultra performance liquid chromatography technique, chemical properties of diuretics named in the WADA Prohibited List as well as a developed analytical method with the use of UPLC/MS/MS technique for determination of diuretics and other doping agents (stimulants, masking agents) in urine samples in comparison with a GC/MS method used earlier. Detailed extraction procedure and comparison of application of several organic solvents during extraction process were given. Parameters of MS/MS method have also been given. The described method was validated in accordance with EURACHEM "The Fitness for Purpose of Analytical Methods: A Laboratory Guide to Method Validation and Related Topics". Limits of detection and recovery level for all compounds in the method were evaluated. The developed method allows to detect most of diuretics at the levels of 1/5 MRPL (Minimum Required Performance Limits) and fulfills all requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
