W artykule omówiono rolę Policji jako formacji współdziałającej w obliczu zaistnienia sytuacji kryzysowych godzących w bezpieczeństwo publiczne, bezpieczeństwo powszechne oraz cyberbezpieczeństwo. Skupiono się na głównych zadaniach tej formacji w świetle regulacji prawnych i przepisów wewnętrznych. Sytuacje kryzysowe i kryzysy ukazano w ujęciu formalnym, czyli nawiązując do treści właściwej ustawy. Na tym tle zaprezentowano szczegółowe zadania Policji – kluczowego podmiotu bezpieczeństwa współdziałającego na rzecz państwa i jego obywateli. Artykuł wzbogacono o doświadczenia własne autora, pozwalające częściowo skonfrontować teorię przedmiotu poznania z praktyką.

Crisis management in Poland leads to prevent the crisis situations. Moreover, the crisis management obtains control over such situations with strictly planned procedures as well as it reacts in the event of their appearance. It also helps to remove the consequences of such acts, reconstruct resources and the infrastructure in relation to mainly public safety and cybersecurity. Representatives of the police are being included in a block of teams for crisis management, strengthening the structures of crisis management system in Poland. Police as a departmental formation are not, however, the entity to crisis management – taking into account the executive character of their tasks. In general, police activity is included in every phase of crisis management. In the prevention stage, it manifests in preventive measures. In the stage of readiness – in risk estimation and analysis, as well as in action plan making. In the stage of response – in alarming and warning the civilians, immediate rescue operations and restoring order. In restorative stage – in actions that rebuild the previous state. The Police operate to prevent such threats as public protests, terrorist attacks, explosive remnants, natural disasters, technical failures, revolts, riots or escapes from criminal units as well as terrorist attacks with the use of aircrafts. Observations, dealing with the tasks of mass events protection, allow to assess the activity of the police and other subjects in cooperation positively. Such a statement does not allow , however, to stop improving and adapting procedures and rules for the current challenges and threats.
