The article presents the general trends of application of artificial neural networks. It presents some examples of applications of artificial neural networks in the textile industry, including forecasts of selected mechanical properties of filament yarns spun from the melt, the classification of damage of card web, the control of regularity of linear mass of draw sliver, assessment the quality of yarn packages textured by false twist and predict the physical properties of unknot-ted spliced ends of wool worsted yarns.

Artificial neural networks have been used in all stages of the manufacturing process of textiles, from fibers, and even at the stage of forming a fiber-forming polymers, starting and ending with finished products. This article presents som examples ofapplications of artificial neural networks used to improve the qualit of spinning processes. Artificial neural multilayer perceptron type learned usin a back propagation algorithm and the algorithm of Marquardt are inter alii to predict the course of the spinning process as well as predicting the physicc properties of yarns, ensuring sufficient accuracy.

This article attempts to systematize some scientific problems of classification, recognition, prediction, estimation, optimization, control, approximation of research object via artificial neural networks. There were presented different methods of classifying artificial neural networks (due to the flow of information, types of tasks, way of learning networks, as well as the transition function and topology). Due to the types of tasks artificial neural networks are divided into networks intended to solve regression problems, classification tasks, clustering analysis and time series analysis. The article mentions the industrial fields of applications of artificial neural networks, with particular consideration on areas of the textile industry.

Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science who create computer programs that simulate intelligent human behavior. The main task of the study of artificial intelligence is designing machines and computer programs capable of carrying out certain functions of the mind and the human senses not amenable to simple numeric algorithmization. Particularly important are artificial neural networks useful to look for more complex relationships between input and output. A neural network is a mathematical paradigm modeling of biological activity and neutral system used to perform calculations. The article presents the biological inspirations and history of the development of artificial neural networks (ANN).
EN
The article presents the basic types of artificial neural networks (ANN), designed to solve the regression problems, engineering applications, engineering manufacturing as well as in industrial conditions. The group included these networks are Adaline network, Madaline networks, linear, unidirectional network perpceptron type of multi-layer (MLP), Generalized Regression Neural Networks (GRNN) and a network of radial basis function (RBF).

Woodcutter profession is often associated with timber harvesting in forest management. Due to the working conditions and the specific nature of the profession of this work is included in the group competition at increased risk of accidents and occupational diseases formation. Felling of timber in forest areas is associated with the pulling down and the choice assortment of different types of trees. The main duties of the employee in the course of the wood-gaining include: – maintenance and operation of machinery and equipment, – analysis of the breeding and conservation of the forest, – marking workspaces to be felled, – felling and felling of trees (Tomczak A., Jelonek T., Grzywiński W., 2012). The basic tool in the work with pruning (felling, thinning early, thinning late, green-wood), and in the work related to the processing of raw wood into useful assortments (limbing, bucking) is a petrol chain saw together with chainsaw wood. The article presents a description of protective clothing intended for employees of the Forest Service.
