Energy recovery from waste by the plasma gasification process

Millions tons of municipal solid waste are generated annually in the world which is usually deposited. The incineration process, generated heat energy, drastical reducition of the volume of solid waste for deposition, but the ashes and flue dusts are very toxic residues. The plasma gasification and smelting process provide complete gasification of all organic and plastic materials to produce the hydrogen and carbon monoxide rich synthesis gas, which can be used, after purification, for electricity and heat generation. Laboratory tests with gasification of different type of plastic materials in laboratory plasma reactor are showed that the hydrogen and carbon monoxide in synthesis gas have high concentration and can be used as technical gas for energy production. Suggested process is commercially feasible and environmentally friendly without any solid or liquid waste.
