Praca zawiera wyniki badań wskaźnika nośności CBR nieprzepalonych odpadów powęglowych pochodzących z przykopalnianego składowiska kopalni "Wesoła" w Mysłowicach, popiołów lotnych z Elektrowni "Skawina" oraz ich mieszanek. Mieszanki przygotowano przy 10, 20 i 30 % dodatku popiołów w stosunku do suchej masy odpadów powęglowych. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników stwierdzono, ze badane odpady oraz ich mieszanki przy wilgotności zbliżonej do optymalnej charakteryzują się dużymi wartościami wskaźnika nośności. Należy jednak wbudowywać je w warstwy powyżej zwierciadła wody, ponieważ zawodnienie powoduje zmniejszenie wartości wskaźnika nośności, a w przypadku popiołów lotnych całkowitą utratą ich nośności. Dlatego też wykorzystanie popiołów do wytwarzania mieszanek z odpadami powęglowymi jest istotne i może stanowić formę ich utylizacji.

The paper includes results of research on the load capacity index of unburnt coal refuse from the refuse damp of Hard Coal Mine "Wesoła" at Mysłowice, fly ashes of Power Plant "Skawina" as well as their mixtures. Mixtures have been prepared at 10. 20 and 30% addition of ashes i proportion to the coal refuse dry matter. On the basis of obtained results it has been stated, that the tested refuses and their mixtures are characterised by high values of load bearing capacity index at the moisture content close to optimal. However they should be located in the strata above water level, because watering causes decrease of load capacity index, and in case of fly ashes complete loss of it. Therefore ashes use for mixtures with coal refuse is essential and can by a form of their utilisation.

Electronic surface states in one-dimensional two-band tight-binding approximation model are studied using the Green function method. The local density of states at successive atoms in a semi-infinite chain, even in the case of atoms distant from the surface, is found to be clearly different from that observed in an unperturbed (infinite) chain. The surface atom occupancy is calculated self-consistently, with the effect of electron-electron interactions taken into account. The electron-electron interactions are shown to have a significant impact on the conditions of existence of surface states.

New solid complexes of La(III), Ce(III), Tm(III), Yb(III) and Lu(III) with quercetin-5_- -sulfonic acid at pH 1.4-1.5 were obtained. On the basis of the elementary analysis and thermogravimetric investigation, the following composition of the compounds was determined: Ln(C15H9O10S) 3_nH2O (n = 14H2O - La, Ce; n = 13H2O - Tm, Yb, Lu).UV and VIS suggest that complexes of CT type were acquired. IR spectra and magnetic and thermogravimetric investigations demonstrate that the obtained complexes are hexa-coordinated. Groups 3OH and 4CO of the ligand participate in binding Ln(III).
