The effectiveness of removing the p-chlorophenol (PCP) from the aqueous solutions by the activation products obtained from waste biomass (corncobs, wheat and rapeseed straws), has been investigated. The influence of the contact time of the sorbents with the aqueous solutions of PCP, the PCP concentration and the sorbents dosage on the adsorption of PCP was investigated. It was stated that agriculture wastes can be considered as the precursors for obtaining the activated carbons for the p-chlorophenol removal from the water. Investigated activated carbons were very effective in removing PCP from the liquids. The highest adsorption capacity for PCP had activated carbon obtained from corncobs.
