On a new critical point theorem and some applications to discrete equations

Using the Fenchel-Young duality we derive a new critical point theorem. We illustrate our results with solvability for certain discrete BVP. Multiple solutions are also considered.

Usługa przenoszenia numerów powoduje, że użytkownicy nie mają możliwości ustalenia opłaty za połączenie na podstawie numeru telefonicznego. Osoba wykonująca połączenie nie może wiec określić, jakie będą jego koszty ze względu na to, że nie jest w stanie ustalić dostawcy usług i stosowanych przez niego taryf. Sytuację, w której użytkownik nie może z łatwością zidentyfikować sieci, do której wykonuje połączenie oraz jego kosztu, określa się jako problem nieświadomości użytkownika i uważa się ją za jeden z kosztów wprowadzenia usługi przenoszenia numerów

Number portability service causes that users do not have possibility to determine charge for making a call on the basis of telephone number. Person making a call is not able to determine its costs because it is not possible to determine who is a service provider and what tariffs are applied. Situation where user can not easily identify a network to which a call is made and costs of making a call is described as user ignorance problem and considered a cost of introducing number portability.

In this paper we provide first-order sufficient optimality conditions for the generalized problem of Bolza when all arcs take values in a separable Hilbert space. Our approach consists in the explicit construction of a quadratic function that satisfies the dual Hamilton-Jacobi inequality. The essential role in the generalized conditions plays the existence of a certain function for which a certain inequality holds.
