W związku z tym w wielu szkołach wyższych wprowadzane są mechanizmy zapewniania jakości kształcenia, wychodzące naprzeciw systemom zewnętrznej oceny i akredytacji instytucji akademickich.

The article deals with basic issues concerning education quality in the university and college education standards. This problem has been for several years one of the basic trends in the Ministry's of Education and academic environment's works, included in university and college education reform. After initial doubts, an opinion is more commonly spread that the quality systems are not to be avoided and although they are troublesome and time consuming but necessary and useful. The article presents synthetically the background, conditions and idea of education quality systems, including mainly accreditation and the directions of their implementation in Poland. On this background the idea of their basic components has been explained: education quality management system, students' evaluation point system and transferring credit points (achievements). The article explains the elements and criteria of evaluation correctness for internal university quality evaluation system and principles of the students' evaluation point system, including the most often applied principles of allocating points to subjects (courses). The author claims that in the close perspective of Poland's integration with the European Union it is crucial to exchange students on a national and international scale. It is necessary to introduce the achievement transfer system so that Polish universities could participate in this exchange. Therefore the article stresses the idea of European transfer achievement system. The article finishes with the conclusions that signal the scope of necessary changes, the introduction of which is necessary in Polish universities in the near future.
