The aim of the paper was to show how cooling of silicone photovoltaic cells influences the amount of electrical energy they produce. The research was conducted both in the laboratory and under real outdoor conditions. Current-voltage characteristics for two different thermal states of PV cells were outlined. Obtained power values for a PV cell working under the influence of refrigerant and without such an influence were compared. As a result of mechanical cooling of PV cells, an increase in photovoltaic cell efficiency was proved.

Celem pracy było wykazanie, w jaki sposób chłodzenie krzemowych ogniw PV wpływa na ilość produkowanej przez nie energii elektrycznej. Badania przeprowadzono w warunkach laboratoryjnych i rzeczywistych. Opracowano charakterystyki prądowo-napięciowe dla różnych stanów termicznych ogniw PV. Porównano wartości pozyskiwanych mocy panelu fotowoltaicznego pracującego bez chłodzenia i z chłodzeniem. Wykazano wzrost wydajności, panelu fotowoltaicznego w wyniku mechanicznego chłodzenia ogniw PV.

Content available remote On Flooding in the Presence of Random Faults

In this paper we study the efficiency of information flooding protocols in various communication networks, and in the presence of random faults. We show big differences between the flooding performance of networks with a seemingly similar structure. Since real-life systems usually consist of a moderate number of devices, the analysis presented in this paper is not limited to the asymptotic behavior of the flooding protocol. Instead, exact formulas are provided whenever possible. The presented results can be useful building blocks for the analysis of other, more sophisticated protocols. In particular, they may be used for planning and analyzing sensors network deployed in an environment subject to communication failures.

In this paper we discuss some fundamental security issues of distributed systems of weak devices. We briefly describe two extreme kinds of such systems - the sensor network and theRadio Frequency IDentification (RFID) system from the point of view of security mechanisms designer. We describe some most important particularities and issues (including unsolved problems) that have to be taken into account in security design and analysis. Finally we present some fundamental concepts and paradigms of research on security of weak devices. In the paper we also give a brief survey of ultra–light HB/HB+ - family of encryption schemes and so-called predistribution protocols.
