The purpose of this paper is to present green economy and bioeconomy as new concepts and economic categories related to sustainable development implementation. This paper discusses the essence and scope of green economy and bioeconomy. Based on a literature review, it presents different approaches to these concepts, their sources and the nature of their relationships with sustainable development. An attempt was made to answer the question on how much do these concepts contribute (at operational level) to sustainable development objectives. The rationale behind, and key objectives of, the development strategy for the European bioeconomy were presented. This paper is based on literature reviews and international documents published by various bodies, especially including the European Commission, UN and OECD.

Celem głównym niniejszego artykułu jest omówienie barier i trudności występujących podczas wdrażania i funkcjonowania Europejskiego Systemu Ekozarządzania i Audytu (EMAS) w przedsiębiorstwach branży piwowarskiej w Niemczech. W artykule została podjęta również próba klasyfikacji występujących barier. Cel główny został zrealizowany na podstawie analizy danych pierwotnych pochodzących z badań ankietowych, przeprowadzonych w przedsiębiorstwach branży piwowarskiej w Niemczech oraz analizy publikowanych przez nie deklaracji środowiskowych. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, że w trakcie wdrażania i utrzymywania EMAS występują bariery o charakterze technologicznym, finansowym i organizacyjnym.

The main aim of this article is to talk over the barriers and difficulties encountered during the implementation and functioning of the European Eco-Management System (EMAS) in enterprises of the brewing industry in Germany. The article also made an attempt to present the classification of barriers. The main aim was realized based on the analysis of primary data from surveys carried out in enterprises of the brewing industry in Germany and analysis published their environmental statements. The analysis shows that during the implementation and maintenance of EMAS exist technological, financial and organizational barriers.
