In the paper are presented the most frequent explotation damages of toothed gears as well as the existing methods of delectation and regeneration. The techno-economical justifiability of the toothed gear is shown on the example of a worn-out cylindrical toothed gear belonging to a toothed joint-part. These tooth gears were regenerated by the manual arc welding and machined to the prescribed dimensions and machining quality. Then the analysis was performed of the geometric accuracy and mechanic characteristics of the regenerated tooth gear. At the end the comparison was made of the manufacturing costs of the new tooth gear and the regeneration costs of the worn tooth gear. It turned out that the regeneration of the tooth gears is technically and economically justified.
