The influence of the data packet size on positioning parameters of UWB system for the purpose of tagging smart city infrastructure

The paper presents a concept of the vehicle/road infrastructure in vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication for tagging and informing vehicles about the surrounded environment. A frame analysis and the influence of the data packet size on Ultra-wideband (UWB) were investigated. The authors have determined the distance that could be traveled by a vehicle at the given speed in relation to the amount of data that has to be transmitted during the ranging procedure. The authors propose a data frame format (using the IEEE 802.15.4a protocol) for coding/encoding the information about the road infrastructure efficiently during the positioning procedure. It affects to minimum the time that is required to exchange messages during the ranging and communication process. The whole system is an efficient and reliable element that enhances/extends the existing components of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), which will facilitate validation of the information obtained from devices such as lidar, radar or video. The impact of the transmitted payload to the distance traveled by car opens the door to future research on the possibility of implementing efficient vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication for autonomous driving or and other smart city solutions.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy wytrzymałościowej metodą MES krążnika niekonwencjonalnej konstrukcji, które potwierdziły zdolność przejmowania przez niego dużego obciążenia promieniowego przy niskich oporach obracania. Dotychczasowe badania laboratoryjne wykazują przydatność takiego rozwiązania w przenośnikach taśmowych, którą aktualnie weryfikuje się badaniami kopalnianymi.

The article presents results of a strength analysis with the MES method of a runner of unconventional construction which confirmed its ability to take over high radial load at low rotation resistance. Lab tests performed so far indicate usability of such a solution in belt conveyors and it is currently being verified with mine tests.

W artykule zwrócono uwagę na to. jaki wpływ ma eksploatacja górnicza na dobór materiałów budowlanych i technologii wznoszenia budynków mieszkalnych na terenach górniczych. Przedstawiono charakterystykę systemu wznoszenia ścian z ceramiki poryzowanej Porotherm oraz opisano metody zabezpieczeń budynków na wpływy eksploatacji górniczej. Opisano zabudowę mieszkaniową w dzielnicy miasta Knurów w celu przedstawienia rzeczywistego obrazu zastosowania systemu Porotherm w budownictwie mieszkaniowym oraz zabezpieczeń na wpływy eksploatacji KWK "Knurów". Następnie przedstawiono, rodzaje uszkodzeń starszych budynków na omawianym terenie, powstałe w wyniku wpływów eksploatacji górniczej. Pozwoliło to na wyrobienie sobie poglądu na ewentualne zagrożenia dla nowo powstałej zabudowy.

In the paper, the concern was turned to that: what effect has mining exploitation on selection of building materials and technology of erecting of apartment buildings on mining terrains? Characteristics were presented of system of erecting of walls from poroused ceramics Porotherm, as well as methods were described of buildings' protections against impact of mining exploitation. Housing building was described in a quarter of Knurów, to present the real picture of use of Porotherm system in housing building, as well as the protections onto impact of exploitation of "Knurów" Hard Coal Mine. Afterwards, kinds of damages of older buildings on discussed terrain, resulting from the impact of mining exploitation, were presented. It enabled to evaluate an opinion on possible hazards for newly erected buildings.
