This paper presents the results of comparative work efficiency tests for assembled hack-off and unback-off worm hobs. Hobs with unback-off teeth, ax compared to standard assembled hobs, provide for a 1,2-2,2 times increase in reduce durability (given equal teeth wear), relative teeth wear reduction by 1,5-1,9 times, an increase in durability between resharpenings up to 4,5 times and in number of resharpenings up to 2,2 times. Given their greater length and lower wear rate, the overall durability of such hobs raises up to 8-9 times.
