Artykuł opisuje możliwość wykorzystania silnika synchronicznego liniowego w napędzie przyszłościowego transportu miejskiego typu PRT (personal rapid transit). W artykule opisana została jedna z odmian „zautomatyzowanego transportu” jaką jest PRT. Przedstawiono istniejące rozwiązania systemów PRT w tym, z silnikiem liniowym. Zwrócono też uwagę na historię samych silników liniowych oraz ich zastosowanie. W artykule opisano również nowatorską metodę wykonania uzwojenia falistego dla silnika liniowego.

This paper describe possibility of using linear synchronous motor as drive in PRT (personal rapid transit) vehicles. There are also information about Personal Rapid Transit as a type of automated transport. Authors describe some of existing solution of PRT systems. Some of them include linear motors as a drive. There are also some information about the history of linear motors and theirs application. Authors describes new method of making waves winding for linear synchronous motor application.

Selection of windings for linear synchronous motor was described in this paper. The paper focused on two kind of winding: wave, loop. Technological information about these windings are also included in this paper. Parameters determining the dimension of end-winding were appointed. Technological feasibility analysis of the wave windings was carried out. A new manufacturing method of such of winding was suggested. Analysis of induced voltage for two kinds of windings mentioned above was performed by PC OPERA field calculation program.

This short document describes PRT propulsion solutions. There are information about most typical drive of PRT vehicle. One of them is Linear Synchronous Motor application. Authors present theirs proposition of Linear Synchronous Motor for PRT drive. The pole model of this type machine also present in this paper. There are also a lot of analyses between physical dimensions and nominal parameters.

The dissertation includes information concerning Personal Rapid Transit systems. The paper is divided into two mutually connected chapters. The first chapter presents the motives of the creation and the history of PRT, along with several examples of these systems. It describes the solutions that are on the most advanced stage of realization (e.g. ULTRA, MISTER, VECTUS). The second chapter comprises a short comparison of the systems mentioned above. Particular attention is drawn to the types of electric motors employed in the systems and the methods of supplying. The conclusion of the deliberation is a suggestion to apply a linear motor in the PRT system instead of a rotating one. Another solution for the PRT propulsion is the concept of hybrid combination of a linear and a rotating motor.
