W artykule omówiono mało dotychczas znaną tematykę rdzenia w linie stalowej. W zakresie przybliżono historię powstania lin stalowych oraz funkcję rdzenia organicznego w linie. Wskazano też na wpływ różnych wymiarów rdzenia organicznego na trwałość zmęczeniową lin wyciągowych. Autor na podstawie własnych badań omawia wpływ doboru kierunku zwicia rdzenia organicznego na jego ścieranie podczas eksploatacji liny, wskazuje również na inne aspekty wykonania rdzenia organicznego.

Discussed in the article is the subject of a core in the steel wire rope that has not been much known so far. Brought up closer to the picture is the history of origin of steel ropes and the function of an arganic core in the rope. Also indicated is the influence of different dimensions of the organic core on the fatigue durability of hoisting ropes. Basing on his own tests, the author discusses the effect the choice of twisting direction (orientation) has on its abrasion in the has on its abrasion in the course of service of the rope, and also indicates some other aspects of making an organic core.
