This document presents a method that can be used to visualize a mirage phenomenon using a "convenational" polygonal renderer. An algorithm of the calculation of the scene reflection in the mirage in shown, whit its major parts: preselection of the mirage surface, mirage polygons and scene polygons and calculation of the modifield viewing frustum. Approaches to the mirage animation are also discussed. Method presented here allows for faster redering process, in comparison to well-known ray-tracing methods, and thus can be easier used in applications that require fast image generation times, e. g. in flight simulators.
