Brak znormalizowanych metod badawczych, dotyczących stosowanych w pożarnictwie środków zwilżających, skłania do podejmowania badań związanych z oceną zdolności zwilżających wodnych roztworów koncentratów pożarniczych. W artykule zaproponowano metodę badawczą, będąca alternatywą dla stosowanych do tej pory metod, dającą możliwość oceny wpływu dodatków do wody na zdolności zwilżające uzyskanych roztworów. W szerokim zakresie stężeń zbadano dynamiczne napięcie powierzchniowe używanych koncentratów środków pianotwórczych różnych typów, zwilżaczy pożarniczych oraz surfaktantu wzorcowego. W prostych, łatwo odtwarzalnych warunkach pomiarowych, nasycano próbki płyty pilśniowej o wymiarach 2,5 cm × 8 cm × 0,5 cm roztworami badanych środków. Miarą zdolności zwilżającej był przyrost masy płytki po określonym czasie nasycania. Wyniki przedstawiono w formie wykresów, obrazujących izotermy dynamicznego napięcia powierzchniowego oraz zależność zdolności zwilżających od stężenia roztworu. Dokonano analizy porównawczej zdolności zwilżających badanych koncentratów pożarniczych.

The lack of the standardized test methods on the wetting agents used in firefighting, tends to conduct the researches related to the evaluation of the wetting ability of the aqueous solutions fire concentrates. The articles presents the research method which is different from the used so far . It gives the opportunity to evaluate the effect of additives to the water on the ability of wetting solutions. In a broad concentration range the dynamic surface tension of the foaming agents concentrates of various types, wetting agents and the standard surfactant have been tested. In the simple and easily reproducible measurement conditions, the samples of the wood fiber board measuring 2,5 cm × 8 cm × 0,5 cm have been saturated by some solutions of the testing agents. The measure of the wetting ability was the weight gained of plates after a specified time of saturation. The results have been presented in the charts showing the isothermal dynamic surface tension and the dependence of the wetting ability on the solution concentration. A comparative analysis of the wetting ability of test fire concentrates has been done.

Tematem naszych warsztatów była rewitalizacja obszaru Valle Giulia. Obszaru, który obecnie jest miejscem zaniedbanym, częściowo zapomnianym, a wieczorami wręcz niebezpiecznym. Chcieliśmy uczynić z głównej alei oraz otaczających ją wzniesień miejsce tętniące życiem, atrakcyjne zarówno dla mieszkańców okolicznych osiedli, jak i dla turystów. Skupiliśmy się głównie na stworzeniu nowych obiektów usługowych oraz przekształceniu głównej ulicy, Viale delie Belle Arti, w aleję sztuki. Aby podkreślić naturalnie zróżnicowane ukształtowanie terenu, wprowadziliśmy system tarasów-pawilonów będących zarazem budynkami użyteczności publicznej.

During our workshop in Rome we were thinking about the revitalization of Valle Giulia area. We wanted to create new functions and meaning for this space and make this area a meeting place. Currently this streets are neglected, omitted and, during the evenings, even dangerous. We focused mainly on creating a valley of art on the Viale delle Belle Arti. First of all we put all the cars under the ground and we planned an underground parking. We used the natural landscape to form terraces, which cover useful buildings (like mensa, library or additional exhibition space). Moreover the shape of terraces shows us a new direction between east and west side of the road. However one of the most important element of our project is the bridge. It's strong vertical element - contra point for all horizontal lines. We hope all this improvements will let people feel good in this area.

Artykuł porządkuje informacje na temat współczesnej i historycznej eksploatacji granitu karkonoskiego. Zestawiono dostępne w literaturze i dokumentacjach geologicznych wyniki badań fizykomechanicznych właściwości surowca oraz dane dotyczące zasobów złóż. Przedstawiono kartograficzne zestawienie położenia złóż, rejonów prowadzenie prac dokumentacyjnych i dawnej eksploatacji granitu.

The paper put in order information's about the contemporary and past exploitation of Karkonosze granite. The results of investigations of physical and mechanical properties of a rock (available in publications and geological documentations) have been presented. A general map of location of deposits, places of geological documentation works and past exploitation of granite have been shown.

Chemometric analysis of retention data from high-performance liquid chromatography - structural parameters and biological activity of sulphonamides

High-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) retention data measured for 12 sulphonamides on Nucleosil 100-5-C18 octadecylsilica, Spherisorb S5-C1 trimethylsilane-bonded silica and Spheri-10 Anion AX-MP have been analysed. Multivariate analysis was used for quantitative correlation of the capacity factors of the solutes with structural information extracted from 48 molecular descriptors, including UV-spectroscopic parameters, quantum chemical indices, calculated log P, molar refractivity, magnetic susceptibility, electronegativity, a parameter reflecting electron donor-acceptor properties of the solutes, pKa and information-content indices. The first two principal components obtained by factor analysis of 28 descriptors of the highest statistical significance seemed meaningful for the description of retention. Most important for retention on the stationary phases tested were structural parameters reflecting the capacity of solutes to participate in non-specific (dispersive) intermolecular interactions. The distribution of individual drugs on the plane determined by the first two factor axes produced patterns in good agreement with the established classification of sulphonamides according to their pharmacokinetic properties. Multivariate analysis of structural descriptors was shown to furnish systematic information about the drugs; this information was useful both for explaining the mechanism of separation and predicting the pharmacokinetic properties of the sulphonamides.
