Purpose: This article is devoted to the development and mathematical modeling of the new technology of forging of blanks such as slabs and plates from ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys in a step dies with a wedge bumps and hollows, allowing for minor energy consumption to intensify shear deformation in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Design/methodology/approach: The combination of two designs of dies will allow with minor inputs to intensify the shear deformation, in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Findings: When its use the optimal and uniform distribution of the stress state is realizing, adequately implemented deforming, especially in the axial zone, as well as significantly less deformation load compared to the flat step dies. The use of a step-wedge dies during deformation will produce blanks with the qualitative deforming of the structure throughout the cross-section with little energy consumption. Researches limitations/implications: During the simulations were studied energy-power parameters and stress-strain state of workpiece under its deformation in dies of new design in comparison with forging of similar workpieces in a normal step dies and ordinary wedge dies. Originality/value: Wide development must receive an engineering service, as a basis for a knowledge-based economy. One of the main directions of implementation of this strategy is the construction of new and modernization of old enterprises for processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys by pressure treatment that will produce competitive products not only on the domestic market, but also on international.

Content available remote Rational form of pre-calibres at rolling of reinforcing steel

Purpose: This work is devoted to definition of the most rational form of pre-calibers at rolling of reinforcing steel. The study was done using of computer modeling in the program “DEFORM-3D”. Design/methodology/approach: For definition of rational forms of calibers were studied following calibers: one-radius oval, flat oval with double concavity and smooth barrel. Findings: For the study as the basic parameters were chosen equivalent strain and deformation force. On the basis of comparative analysis of these parameters was revealed that the most rational form at rolling of reinforcing steel is pre-caliber in the form of flat oval with double concavity, because when rolling it in procurement is implemented the distribution of deformation in the horizontal to the vertical directions. Research limitations/implications: In order to evaluate the impact of forms of pre-fine caliber on strain state, were made the single simulation, that is, the model is included only the pre-fine caliber. Originality/value: Great interest is the shape and size of pre-fine calibers, after which metal gets to finish caliber, where is formed the final profile.

Method for the assessment of technological lubricants for cold rolled sheets with the criterion of efficiency is described. The evaluation of lubricants, currently used or tested once on the cold rolling mill 1700 in ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC (“AMT” JSC), is described. It was revealed that there were no lubricants more efficient than the reference Quakerol 671 found. The less efficient lubricants are: Efirol-VP 5%, AKTO – 5%, Emulsol – 5%. The efficiency of various lubricants on technological parameters on the rolling mill 1700 of AMT JSC is considered.

W pracy opisano metodę oceny smarów technologicznych w procesie walcowania blachy na zimno w oparciu o złożone kryterium efektywności. Ocenę przeprowadzono dla smarów stosowanych powszechnie lub wybranych do badań w warunkach walcowni na zimno 1700 w ArcelorMittal Temirtau SA („AMT” SA). Wykazano, że nie ma bardziej skutecznego smaru niż wybrany Quakerol 671. Mniej wydajnymi smarami są: Efirol-VP 5%, Akto - 5%, Emulsol - 5%. Przeprowadzono rozważania nad wydajnością zastosowania różnych smarów i jej wpływem na parametry technologiczne w walcowni zimnej 1700 AMT SA.

The paper presents a qualimetrical method for quality assessment of hot-rolled 20GYuT steel strips, 5 to 8 mm thick, made from continuous cast slabs. The mechanical properties such as ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness (HRB) were taken into account as the indicators of quality. Weighting factors were distributed evenly between the indicators and a complex quality indicator were calculated for every strip thickness. It was found out that quality of hot-rolled strip corresponds to a level “good” on the empirical scale of quality. There were no significant differences in quality of strips with different thicknesses.

W artykule przedstawiono kwalimetryczną metodę oceny jakości walcowanej na gorąco taśmy o grubości od 5 do 8 mm z odlewanych w sposób ciągły wlewków płaskich ze stali 20GYuT. Właściwości mechaniczne, takie jak wytrzymałość na rozciąganie, granica plastyczności, wydłużenie i twardość (HRB), były brane pod uwagę jako wskaźniki jakości. Każdemu wskaźnikowi przypisano jednakowy współczynnik wagi, a następnie obliczono złożony wskaźnik jakości dla taśm o każdej grubości. Stwierdzono, że jakość walcowanych na gorąco taśm odpowiada poziomowi „dobry” empirycznej skali jakości. Nie stwierdzono istotnych różnic jakości taśm o różnych grubościach.
