The digital forest map (DFM) Standard was introduced by Regulation 74/2001 of the Director General of the State Forests (DGLP). Annex No. 4 defines 10 control actions for digital forest maps supplied by the contractor to the contracting entity. Kontrola LMN software, developed by the company Taxus SI and commissioned by DGLP, serves the purpose of controlling digital forest maps. Representatives of Bobolice Forest District (contracting entity) presented their assessment of this software, drawing attention both to its flaws and merits. Detailed remarks will be certainly helpful in creation of next version of the software. It is undoubtedly a good point that this software was developed. It forced contractors to get deeply engaged into building of digital maps. High quality of digital maps and large amount of information contained on such maps contributed to growing interest among employees of district forests in the Information System of the State Forests, and what is of particular importance . the digital maps are used in practice.
