The paper deals with simplification of the control algorithm for minimization of supply power and energy of induction motor (IM) based on two control strategies. The first algorithm is based on IM losses minimization and the second one is based on MTPA control. Both algorithms are implemented for indirect vector control of IM. The proposed algorithms are simulated in Matlab-Simulink with subsequent real-time experiments performed via D-space control system.
This paper describes permanent magnet synchronous motor loss minimization control strategy. The motor parameters variations have substantial influence on optimal current calculation, therefore adaptive online estimation of stator resistance and q-axes inductance is designed. Minimization control method with on-line parameter estimation is explained including its block diagram. Possibility to estimate parameters during motor operation is verified by simulation. Simulation results confirm significant loss reduction if properly estimated parameters are used for optimal current calculation.
