W artykule zamieszczono opis projektowanego suchego zbiornika przeciwpowodziowego Kątki na Czarnej Wodzie. Zbiornik ma być realizowany w ramach prac związanych z ochroną przed powodzią zlewni Bystrzycy. Omówiono określone w przygotowanej koncepcji parametry zbiornika dostosowane do hydrologii rzeki do przekroju jego lokalizacji oraz zweryfikowaną hydraulikę urządzeń upustowych. Na bazie wygenerowanych fal hipotetycznych dla przyjętych przepływów obliczeniowych, w połączeniu z wnikliwym doborem przepływów dozwolonego i powodziowego poniżej, dokonano oceny warunków pracy tego zbiornika. Wskazano na dużą skuteczność zbiornika w ochronie przed powodzią terenów leżących poniżej.

The article presents a description of the planned Kątki dry flood reservoir on the Czarna Woda River. The construction of the reservoir is planned as part of works related to flood protection of the Bystrzyca River basin. It discusses the reservoir parameters as defined by the project's conceptual design, adapted to the river's morphology, as well as the cross-section of its location and verified hydraulics of the discharge facilities. The authors carried out an evaluation of the reservoir working conditions based on hypothetical waves generated for the adopted calculation flows, combined with the perspicacious selection of the permitted and flow floods. The analysis indicates high effectiveness of the reservoir in flood protection of the areas located downstream.

The paper presents the results of the estimation of the runoff formation during floods events in the upper Bóbr River basin, including its left-sided tributary the Kwisa River. The analysis was carried out on the basis of historical maximum freshets recorded at 15 gauging stations located on the streams and rivers in the investigated area in multiyear 1970–2004. For all standardized freshets the basic parameters were determined: reduced maximum discharge, duration times and volumes for wave phases, rising and falling and for total wave. On the basis of these parameters the regional relationships of maximum outflow were determined for the Bóbr River basin. The obtained results are satisfactory, most of the relationships proved strong correlations, confirmed by high values of determination coefficients. Determined regional relations between the waves’ parameters give a view on the course of flood events and the maximum outflow formation in the basin and can be useful in engineering issues in the studied region.

W ramach prac związanych z remontem kapitalnym zapory suchego zbiornika przeciwpowodziowego Świerzawa na potoku Kamiennik poddano analitycznej weryfikacji zdolność przepustową bloku upustowo-przelewowego tego zbiornika. Z uwagi na istotne znaczenie dla bezpieczeństwa eksploatacyjnego zbiornika w pierwszej kolejności analizie poddano przelew stokowy z odprowadzeniem bocznym. W tym celu wykonano modelowanie numeryczne warunków przepływu przez koryto zbiorcze przelewu. Modelowanie poprzedzono analizą zasad funkcjonowania tego typu urządzenia oraz obliczeniami analitycznymi określającymi zdolność przepustową samego przelewu w funkcji obowiązujących piętrzeń na zbiorniku, jak również istotnymi dla pracy przelewu warunkami przepływu przez koryto zbiorcze. Na podstawie przeprowadzonego modelowania numerycznego wskazano brak potrzeby przebudowy tego urządzenia, podkreślając jego wystarczającą zdolność przepustową przy przepuszczaniu zweryfikowanych dla tego zbiornika przepływów obliczeniowych.

Works related to major repairs of the Świerzawa dry flood reservoir dam located on the Kamiennik Stream included a verification of the discharge and spillway block's flow capacity. Due to its key importance for the operational safety of the reservoir, first construction to be examined was the spillway with a lateral outflow. The spillway's flow capacity was analysed by means of numerical modelling of the collective channel flow conditions. The modelling was preceded with an analysis of functioning of such type of facilities as well as analytic calculations determining the flow capacity of the spillway alone as a function of the reservoir's applicable damming parameters, as well as the collective channel flow conditions important for the spillway's work. The numerical modelling carried out indicated the lack of necessity to reconstruct the facility, underlining that its flow capacity is sufficient to let through the design flows verified for this reservoir.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z modelowaniem historycznym przepływów, dzięki któremu możliwe jest odtworzenie zasięgu zalewów na rzekach Ślęży i Widawie, na skutek piętrzenia na tzw. wojskowych zaporach wodnych. Problematyka ta dotyczy fortyfikacji lekkiej Wrocławia na przełomie XIX/XX, która związana była z kształtującą się w tym czasie siecią rzeczną Wrocławia.

The paper presents the problems related to historical modeling of dis-charges, through which it is possible to recreate the range of flooding on the Ślęza River and the Widawa River, as a result of damminig on fortress weirs. This issue relates to the Wrocław fortifications at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth, which was associated with the river network forming at this time in Wrocław.

The Lubachów storage reservoir was built in the 1920’s. It is equipped with a relatively complex outlet installation, operating in variable hydraulic regime. The discharge deviations curves elaborated by German engineers for individual devices, after verification turned out to be burdened with a comparatively big error. This concerns especially the front spillway as well as intermediate outlets, and to a smaller degree the bottom outlets. The authors made a detailed analytical verification of the outlet installations and found great deviations from the currently valid discharge curves for these devices. Based on the analysis of conditions of computational discharges passage through the reservoir, they proved a high potential threat of water flow over the dam crest.

An important part of the work connected with planning modernization of outlet devices of Złotniki storage reservoir on the Kwisa river was numerical modelling of flow conditions in the flume of the side-channel spillway. The modelling was preceded by the analysis of operating principles of such a device and performing analytical calculations that defined the spillway capacity ability as a function of the required water levels in the reservoir and the conditions of water flow through the flume that are significant to spillway operation. The results of the numerical modelling performed pointed to the evident need to reconstruct this device, guaranteeing exploitation safety of the reservoir, mainly in view of the computational discharges, exceeding considerably the nominal capacity ability of the reservoir's outlet installation in the existing constructional state.

Content available remote Dimensioning of linear drainage systems

n the basis of investigations carried out by the authors, connected with the verification of analytical methods for estimating linear drainage systems capacity ability, a procedure of dimensioning the individual elements of that system is given, including a grate, drainage flume, trash box and conduit carrying away water from system. The producers of some available drainage systems usually define conditions for their choice, but they are not always compatible with real conditions of their working. These concerns especially a hydraulic work of the separate elements mentioned above. The authors, based on their experience in the dimensioning of surface drainage systems, carried out a trial to systematize the work conditions of the devices of such a type and also computational procedure for determining the possibility of collecting a given discharge from precipitation waters, considering every component of system separately and also in their general configuration.

In frames of works connected with modernizing the outlet installations of the Pilchowice storage reservoir on the Bóbr River, the model investigations of side channel spillway were carried out. The investigations were preceded by analyzing the principles of the functioning of this type of installation and analytical calculations defining its capacity ability. The studies were carried out on a large-scale physical model with a full representation of the conditions of water inflow on side channel spillway and also the conditions of water outflow by multistage cascade. The results of model tests were compared with analytical calculations and on that basis a necessity of the reconstruction of this installation was shown. Such a reconstruction ensures the safety of the reservoir in terms of computational discharges in the current state of a technical solution of outlet installation, significantly exceeding its nominal capacity ability.

Opisano sytuację spotykaną w przekrojach ujściowych dopływów cieku głównego. Na przykładzie potoku Pławna (dopływ Nysy Kłodzkiej) zaprezentowano wyniki obliczeń hydraulicznych zdolności przepustowej istniejącej i projektowanej budowli mostowej oraz propozycje rozwiązań.

The article describes situations occurring in estuarv cross-sections of the main watercourses's tributaries. The author uses the example of Pławna (Nysa Ktodzka's tributary) to present the results of hydraulic calculations of the existing and planned bridge constructions capacity as well as the proposed solutions.
