The paper deals with the assessment of slope stability on the road II / 595 near the village Zlatno. The assessment of slope stability was made before and after the landslide caused by floods in 2010. For proposal for a comprehensive assessment and possible remedial action is necessary to know the geological conditions and choose the appropriate method to assess slope stability. The calculation of factor of safety was made using GEO 5 software. The critical factors of safety have been determined by Petterson, Bishop and Sarma Methods. We analyzed possibilities to using these methods for assessment of slope stability. The Sarma Method is more appropriate for this calculation.
The static load model of laminate with the hygrothermal load is considered in the paper. The corresponding ply properties are calculated using Mori-Tanaka method. A parametric study is conducted by varying the fiber volume fraction in one laminate layer and the fiber orientation of the angle plies in the laminate. The internal forces of laminate plate with symmetric and unsymmetric stacking of layers are investigated.
The paper deals with analytical and numerical homogenization of unidirectional fiber matrix composite. There are described the Mori-Tanaka method, periodic analytical model and numerical periodic and hexagonal models. The example of homogenization is solved by programs Heat and Elasticity Properties, MATLAB and ANSYS. The obtained results are summarized in the table and compared to each other.

The paper deals with numerical modeling of sandwich beams with polyurethane foam core and two types of face layers – short fiber reinforced composite faces and hot-zinc dipped steel sheet, coated by plastic. The experimental results of four-point bending test are used as benchmark in the commercial ANSYS program simulations.
