Site-specific efficient management of soil resources using GIS and BIM technologies

The spatial data sets of soil resources are essential for the interpretation of the site-specific ecosystems, not only concerning process investigations, but also for sustainable soil management The objective of the study was to attempt identification of the primary parameters influencing the rational management of soils available without the necessity of carrying out time-consuming and costly field and laboratory research. The research was carried out in the Pawłów commune (north-eastern part of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland). The research included the application of different methods and interpretation of source materials, including (i) digital soil-agricultural map, (ii) annex to the soil-agricultural map at a scale of 1:5000, (iii) soil quality contours, (iv) digital terrain model, and (v) orthophotomaps. Obtaining data concerning soil type and/or agricultural usefulness complexes would require conducting a generalisation process. Publicly available ortophotomaps and cartographic materials in the form of topographic maps and a numerical terrain model were analysed to determine the extent of soils to be protected. The rational management of space and soil resources can be visualised and documented using BIM technology; however, relying on GIS data is not the most straightforward task due to the lack of integration on the BIM-GIS line. This paper presents the current state of the art and attempts to address selected problems in this area.

This paper presents guidelines for the designation and development of locations for tourism and recreation in the countryside and on the city outskirts. The proposed criteria for designating these areas can be used in the development of strategic and planning documents. Using the METPRET and SWPR methodology in the area of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, the research allows for the development of proposals to be included in the strategic documents of the voivodeship. These proposals indicated the need to find new areas with the potential for individual short-term tourism and recreation. In uncertain circumstances, an integrated approach to spatial policy is essential as it ensures the ability of urban, suburban, and rural areas to adapt to change and develop sustainably.

W artykule w szczególny sposób zwraca się uwagę na rolę oświetlenia wnętrza urbanistycznego, które z jednej strony stanowi zasadniczy element kreujący przestrzeń miejską, a z drugiej strony jest istotnym źródłem zanieczyszczenia światłem. Jednym z czynników generujących zanieczyszczenie światłem jest zastosowanie oświetlania o zbyt wysokim natężeniu, czyli zbyt silnego. Na potrzeby niniejszego opracowania za emitery zanieczyszczenia światłem uznano jedynie instalacje oświetlenia ulicznego. Występowaniu zjawiska zanieczyszczenia światłem sprzyjają unormowania prawne, dotyczące między innymi oświetlenia dróg. W pracy wskazano, że spójna strategia oświetleniowa przestrzeni miejskiej obejmująca między innymi dobór takich parametrów, jak: typ źródeł światła, w tym temperatura barwowa i natężenie emitowanego światła, oprawa, lokalizacja instalacji oświetleniowej, może ograniczać zanieczyszczenie światłem.

This article focuses, in particular, on the role of urban interior lighting, which on the one hand is a crucial element for creating urban space and on the other hand is a significant source of light pollution. One of the factors generating light pollution is the use of lighting with too high an intensity. For the purposes of the study, only street light installations were considered as light polluting emitters. The occurrence of light pollution is facilitated by legal regulations, including road lighting. The paper shows that the selection of parameters such as: type of light sources, colour temperature, intensity of emitted light, luminaire and location of lighting installation can mitigate light pollution.
