Traditionally helicopter gearbox failure analysis has been achieved in a number of ways, including the recording of the oil temperature and oil pressure of critical components within the transmission system. Vibration monitoring techniques provide a sufficient level of detail such that all drive train components can be monitored throughout flight. Each indicator relates to specific faults, such as shaft misalignment, gear tooth cracking, bearing inner-race damage, and lubrication problems.
The priority of aviation theory and practice is to create conditions for fulfilment of Air Force requirements put on military aviation personnel according to the NATO standards and Joined European Requirements JAR / EASA - European Aviation Safety Agency, in the sphere of aviation personnel preparation. We pay our particular attention especially to future military pilots. Not only military but also civil education institutions and training organizations have special place in aviatic education of personnel (in aviation education, upbringing and training) in such a small country as Slovakia is. An important trend in our aviatic education is a distribution of responsibilities for professional preparation of military aviation personnel between military and civil education and training systems, it means between state and non state persons involved in aviatic education. We perceive aviatic education in the national conditions as realization of a social state order in whole state dimensions except for the alternative to utilize external sources abroad. The professional, technical and intellectual support of great aviation and defence industry firms, representative of science, research and development is a part of innovation processes in preparation of aviation personnel. The change of social and ”inter-firm culture” in aviatic education within the Ministry of Defence after Slovakia joined the European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organization, has created conditions for establishing our personal interoperability with allies in context of strong European identity.
The part of the board airsraft equipment contains the great amount of complex subsystems which are mutually connected and controlled by the airplane crew. So a pilot works in such conditions when he must receive and work out a lot of information/data from more panel and outer sources. This information is later used to control the airplane and to fulfill the flight missions. The development in the sphere of solving the described problems leads to the usage of elements and methods of artificial intelligence. One of possible approaches is an application of panel expert systems.

Część wyposażenia, znajdującego się na pokładzie samolotu zawiera ogromną ilość podsystemów, wzajemnie połączonych i kontrolowanych przez członków załogi. Stąd też, pilot pracuje w takich warunkach, gdzie musi otrzymać i wysłać dużą ilość informacji / danych z dużej ilości paneli kontrolnych i źródeł zewnętrznych. Informacja ta jest następnie używana do kontroli samolotu oraz wypełnienia nakazanej / zaplanowanej misji. Rozwój dziedziny rozwiązującej tego rodzaju problemy prowadzi do użycia elementów i metod sztucznej inteligencji. Jednym z proponowanych rozwiązań w tej dziedzinie jest zastosowanie panelowego systemu eksperckiego.
